The strategic aim is to improve the overall health and welfare of patients. To achieve this Patients of the Practice may be contacted at random from time to time and invited to voluntarily participate in a research programme

NHS Cervical Screening Programme update

From September, NHS plans to start sending results from the NHS Cervical Screening Programme, utilising the NHS App.

In September, those who have a negative test result will be notified of this by an NHS App message. It will also appear as an NHS App notification. If the NHS App message isn’t read within 72 hours, a letter will be sent as a failsafe.

Abnormal result letters will continue for the time being to be delivered by post.

This change follows the successful rollout of digital invitations and reminders in June 2025, where since the launch, 9 out of every 10 invitations are being sent digitally, with the remainder being sent by post.

The Food Standards Agency issued this food safety alert about certain Tesco Pasta Salads last night. We are sharing this information as a public health matter.

Symptoms caused by Salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should stay away from work, school or nursery until you have stopped having symptoms for at least 48 hours to avoid passing it on to others.

Unless an agreement is reached before hand the resident Doctor's strike will take place from 07:00 Friday July 25th 2025 until 07:00 Wednesday 30th July 2025. During this period your GP Practice will make every effort to maintain as normal a service as possible in the circumstances. Some flexibility may be required with appointments to ensure that as many Patients as possible have access to a Clinician on the days affected.

There have been articles in the news about a recent death caused by measles and publicity around the disease and the need for vaccination, particularly as the holiday season approaches and the risks of exposure to the disease increase for some people if they holiday in a country where the disease is still prevalent.

There will be posts to this page urging vaccination in the next few days.
