A NOTE FOR YOUR DIARIES.

In recent months the Patient Participation Group of Danes Camp & Rillwood Medical Practice and that of The Parks Medical Practice merged. The new, larger group will be called DANES PARK PPG and will represent the patients registered with the medical practices at Blisworth, Danes Camp, Grange Park, Hanslope, Rillwood and Roade. The name of this page will correspondingly change to DANES PARK PPG early in December.

Danes Camp and Rillwood Medical Centre are Supporting the OPTIMISE2 Study

We are pleased to be taking part in OPTIMISE2, exploring whether deprescribing (stopping) common drugs that lower blood pressure is safe or effective in older people in the longer term (a year or more).

Patients aged 75 or over, with normal blood pressure, and taking two or more blood pressure medications may receive an invitation to join the study.

If you choose to take part, you will attend visits at the practice and complete a few questionnaires. The research team will guide you through every step.

This partnership represents an exciting step in expanded involvement in high-quality, patient-centred clinical research within primary care. Being part of the NIHR network allows closer collaboration with research partners across the region and contributes to delivering innovative studies that make a real difference to patients’ lives.

As a Primary Care Research Hub site, Danes Camp Medical Centre continues to play a key role in advancing research, education, and healthcare improvement across Northamptonshire.

Danes Camp and Rillwood Medical Centre Joins the Genes & Health Study!

This important project aims to improve health outcomes among people of British-Bangladeshi and British-Pakistani heritage by analysing the genes and health data of more than 100,000 volunteers.

By taking part, participants will help researchers better understand how genes influence health and disease, leading to earlier diagnoses, improved treatments, and better healthcare for our communities.

DWP Winter Fuel Payment Warning – Pensioners Targeted by Scams

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued a warning to pensioners after reports of fraudulent messages claiming to offer the Winter Fuel Payment. Scammers are contacting people by email, text, and phone, pretending to be from the DWP or another government department.

These messages often ask for personal details, bank information, or request that you click on a link to claim your payment. Please remember. The DWP will never ask for your bank details or personal information by text or email.

You do not need to apply for the Winter Fuel Payment if you already receive the State Pension or other qualifying benefits payments are made automatically.

If you receive a suspicious message:

1. Do not click on any links or attachments.
2. Do not share personal or banking information.
3. Report scam messages.

Stay alert and help protect yourself and others from fraud this winter.
