Many people believe depression should improve after trying an antidepressant.

But for some people, it simply doesn’t.

When someone has tried two or more antidepressants without meaningful improvement, clinicians refer to this as treatment-resistant depression.

This does not mean there are no options.

Modern mental health care now includes approaches such as:

• TMS neuromodulation therapy
• Pharmacogenetic testing to help guide medication choices
• Specialist psychiatric assessment

At Transforming Mind Solutions, we support patients who want to explore alternative approaches when traditional treatments have not been effective.

Sometimes understanding the options available can be the first step toward recovery.

Anxiety? When you are 𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱/worried your🧠 is absolutely elsewhere. It is focused on surviving the fear & reacts in different ways. The 3👇

🧠I perceive a danger potential or immediate, so
Fight it physically or mentally.
How can I fix this?
Fight through my day, or the feelings or the thoughts? Fix the problem?
How, how can I do that? Here comes a new idea? Don't stop until you do? Can't stop. Feels like anxiety.
Avoid it physically or mentally
How can I avoid this?
Avoid my day or my thoughts or my feelings?
How, how do I do that? I can stay away physically or distract myself. Eat, scroll, watch, drink, etc feelings like anxiety.
Protect yourself from it
How can I do that?
Don't do anything, don't move, its not worth it, its pointless, you can't, don't try. Feels like depression.
Your reaction is normal but we can become afraid of how we respond to the fear, mainly because we are unaware of what we are afraid of.
Your reaction is survival mechanism, here to help you survive a danger.
A real danger that's obvious like a wild animal
A not so obvious one like, a test, fears like failure or of anxiety, of panic, of a certain place you felt anxious, of getting it wrong, that there is something wrong with you. Etc
It can start to feel like anxiety is the problem when you can't see why, & blame the response.
Now you've got the real causes of anxiety👇
Perceived Fear
Body & mind in need
Hormones out of balance
+ fear or the response.
The feelings of fight flight freeze, heart racing etc
The thoughts of F F F , what if the worst happens?
The fear of F F F. I'm just so afraid, afraid to be afraid.
Now it can get overwhelming.
I'm afraid to be afraid & of anyting to do with the response. Feels stuck.
If you need a ✋to exit (I've been there 20 years ago fear of everything) anxiety coach/cbt practitioner link in the bio 4 moreℹ
But just for today. An important piece ofℹ Fear causes anxiety. If you are afraid that your mind is elsewhere. Try to reassure yourself.
I'm normal, I have got other things on my mind & the amygdala is focused on that. Its normal but I need a✋ with my fears❤

UK TMS in the news

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is gaining national attention as a low-cost, evidence-based lifeline for people living with moderate to severe treatment-resistant depression.

A new feature published by Medical Xpress highlights findings from the BRIGHTMIND study, which evaluated the economic and clinical impact of TMS for depression in the UK. The study, published in the BMJ, makes a compelling case for wider investment in neurostimulation within mental health services.

The research utilised Magstim Horizon Performance technology with a navigated TMS package, reinforcing the growing role of precision neuromodulation in modern psychiatric care.

Huge credit to Edward Cox, Jing Ma, Christina Roadevin, Richard Morriss, Marilyn James, and the wider BRIGHTMIND study team for advancing accessible, effective mental health treatment.

A gentle reminder as we step into 2026.

Not every restart looks dramatic.
Sometimes it’s choosing to protect your energy.
Sometimes it’s learning from what didn’t go as planned.
Sometimes it’s carrying your past with compassion instead of letting it define you.
And sometimes, strength is simply getting up again — even when no one sees how hard it is.

At Transforming Mind Solutions, we see the full picture.
The part you show the world and the part you carry quietly.

If this resonates, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to navigate it on your own.
