We’ve all been alone at one time or another and the Covid pandemic has meant that our usual support networks and social structures have either shrunk from what they were or have been completely curtailed. Even now, as the world opens up again, many people are experiencing loneliness for the first time or a deepening of disconnection that was already there.
Mental Health Awareness Week this year is focussing on loneliness as it can have serious effect on mental health especially when experienced long term. Loneliness can be particularly acute in older people, people with long term physical conditions, those on lower incomes and those with other mental health problems.
