At Care Fertility, we’re dedicated to supporting patients and ensuring everyone has access to the fertility care they need.
If you live in Birmingham, Tamworth, Northampton, Nottingham, or Sheffield, we encourage you to participate in this important survey about changes to NHS-funded fertility treatment across the East Midlands.
A new survey is open about proposed changes to fertility treatment access across five Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), including:
Derby & Derbyshire ICB
Nottingham & Nottinghamshire ICB
Northamptonshire ICB
Leicester & Leicestershire ICB
Rutland & Lincolnshire ICB
These changes will impact many local patients, including those in Glossopdale and Bassetlaw.
What’s Changing?
- Reduced access to IVF: Policies will be harmonised to offer just 1 partial IVF cycle (one ovarian stimulation and up to 6 embryo transfers) for women under 42. Currently, some areas offer up to 3 full cycles.
- New eligibility rules: Couples where one partner has a child from a previous relationship will no longer qualify for NHS-funded IVF.
- Expanded access for same-sex couples, single women, and trans men: These groups will now be considered to have a fertility issue (if all other criteria are met), making them eligible for NHS treatment.
Deadline for Feedback: January 10, 2025
