Health and Wellness Benefits Overview: -
Restorative yoga is a gentle, supportive practice designed to promote deep rest, reduce stress, and help the body and mind recover from the physical and emotional impact of cancer and its treatments.
Why Restorative Yoga Is Ideal During Cancer Treatment: -
• No physical exertion required: Poses are fully supported with props, making the practice accessible even during chemotherapy, radiation, or post-
surgery recovery.
• Deep rest promotes healing: The body’s repair processes are most active during states of deep relaxation.
• Rebuilds the skill of relaxation: Chronic stress can make it difficult to relax; restorative yoga retrains the nervous system to find calm.
• Encourages mindful awareness: Breathwork and stillness help reduce overwhelm and promote clarity.
Overall Impact on Recovery and Quality of Life Restorative yoga can support: -
• Better tolerance of treatment
• Faster recovery after surgery
• Improved mood and emotional stability
• Reduced treatment-related symptoms
• A greater sense of control and empowerment
• A return to feeling more like oneself
Important Note: -
Restorative yoga is a complementary practice and does not replace medical treatment. Individuals should consult their healthcare team before beginning any new movement or relaxation practice, especially during active treatment.
Love and Light to you all!❤️
Namaste,
Petra
