Today (Monday 7 July) marks the 20th anniversary of the 7/7 bombings in London.

The terrorist attacks on that horrific day in 2005 changed us as a nation forever. 52 innocent people tragically lost their lives and hundreds more were left injured.

This morning, we joined many other across the country in observing a minute’s silence at 8.49am – the time the attacks took place.

This is a time to remember everyone involved in the attacks - the victims, the families who lost loved ones and the survivors who carry the memories with them still.

It is also a time to recognise the bravery of officers, emergency responders, and staff who showed extraordinary courage in the face of horror, working tirelessly to save lives and protect the public.
