The Lowdown is a Mental Health Charity, providing free and confidential support services for 11- 25 year olds in Northamptonshire. Our services include Counselling, Information, Advice & Advocacy, Wellbeing, LGBTQ+, Youth Groups and Sexual Health.

“The Lowdown believe no young person should ever experience mental health issues alone.”

We offer a caring environment where young people are always supported on their journey towards positive emotional health and wellbeing. We are members of the REACH Collaborative providing professional and confidential services for young people across Northamptonshire. All our services are accessible, safe, welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental services. There are various ways to get in touch and then we will work out together how we can best support you.

🎓✨ This month we say "See you later" to three incredible YAB members as they begin their next chapter at university. It’s hard to put into words just how much they’ve given to YAB. Their passion, leadership, and unwavering commitment, helped shape the Lowdown and YAB into something truly special.
From meetings, socials, trips & events, they’ve consistently brought energy, insight, and dedication to everything they’ve done. Their voices have been powerful, their presence irreplaceable, and their impact lasting.

We were so lucky to work alongside them and most importantly learn from them and watch them grow into brilliant young people. Though we’ll miss them deeply, we’re beyond proud and excited to see all the amazing things they’ll do next.
Thank you for everything. Go chase those dreams, you’ve got this! 💫

Our Out There Groups are back in Towcester tonight!

Summer holiday's are over, so our LGBTQ+ group returns for school years 7-13.

The groups will run weekly with the last one of the year being held on 16th December. Remember we are also closed in Half Term (Tuesday 28th October).

Today Ellie showed off our new look building to Mark and Richard who are long time supporters of The Lowdown. Oh and Amber the dog too!

Mark used to be a volunteer counsellor 17 years ago and Richard has supported with lots of fundraising events over the last 17 years too. He also designs and puts together our Annual Report.
