The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is conducting a consultation on proposed changes to the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) system, these changes could affect eligibility and assessments. In addition, there has been discussion around redesigning the PIP assessment to include medical evidence or formal diagnosis as a mandatory requirement and how to prevent this from impacting on the NHS.
BAPO encourages Prosthetic and Orthotics service users and healthcare professionals to comment on this consultation to ensure that their voice is heard.
