Helen qualified in 2000 and is a leading practitioner in Northants, Daventry, Rugby and surrounding areas.
Helen works clincially; integrating her treatments with your conventional medical care for optimal results. Helen Lewis began her Reflexology journey in 1999, after she suffered with fertility and health issues. At the time, Reflexology was fairly unknown, and it was only when Helen conceived during receiving weekly treatments as part of her training, that she realised just how powerful and effective this naturally gentle therapy could be. Fast forward on to the current day, and Helen now lives with her husband, various pets and is a mum to two adult boys. In her career she has become one of the region’s leading practitioners, and her knowledge and results have inspired others to learn Reflexology and become therapists themselves, often under her mentorship. Helen still continues to train and integrate her work alongside a recognised team of international osteopaths. This has given her a unique approach to how the bio mechanical movement of the body can affect human health, and has enabled her to achieve optimum results with her patients. Helen specialises in conception, maternity and post natal care, and offers treatments and support for pregnant and post natal mothers and babies. Helen is a co creator of the 'Barefoot Baby Targeted Approach'. These informative classes help parents to understand how to maximise their baby’s health and wellbeing, at what is often an emotional and daunting time. Helen also works with medical professionals where possible, to support women with their mental and physical health during conception, pregnancy and post natal stsges. Helen is a Director of The Cedar Grove Clinic in Daventry, which promotes family health and wellbeing in the local community. Helen and her team always try to work in conjunction with your medical practitioners to offer the best all round care for you and your family, and are not a substitute for conventional medical care. Clinic appointments, virtual online assessments and consultations are available to support you and your family by appointment.

I'm still processing what I learnt on an amazing course last week hosted by Florence Cohen. Florence has a background in Osteopathic Reflexology, and is a leader in Fascia techniques for Reflexologists. The knowledge and information that she shared on her course was invaluable as well as mind blowing, and I can't wait to practise the new techniques we were shown.
Scientists have discovered that fascia is a living, responsive tissue deeply integrated with the nervous system. Under the microscope, fascia appears like a finely tuned communication network. In some regions of the body, they were found to be even more densely innervated than the muscle itself; filled with sensory nerve endings constantly communicating and reporting back to the brain.
Rather than sitting neatly around muscles, fascia behaves more like a 3D spiderweb of continuous fabric woven throughout the body. Every part is connected and reactive to the fascia around it. Stretch one area and the entire system responds. Fascia responds instantly to changes in pressure, stress and tension.
When we're under emotional stress or trauma, fascia adapts alongside the nervous system. Fascia tightens to protect parts of the body under pressure and holds familiar patterns as a protective response.
Research demonstrated that fascia responds to mechanical input and hydration, showing that gentle, sustained touch can influence its structure. The anatomical mapping of fascia has helped us understand why pain often follows predictable pathways rather than remaining in a single isolated spot.
As fascia has been identified as a sensory organ it also explains why changes in fascia can influence how emotionally safe, grounded, or connected a person feels.
As Reflexologists we can positively rebalance fascia throughout the body through the feet and lower legs, helping rebalance the body physically and emotionally. I can't wait to start using the techniques I was shown alongside continuing to work with my Osteopathic colleagues to continue offering the professional service that I provide.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested in experiencing my treatments for yourself.

If January has not made a difference to your stress levels and
your usual ways of 'switching off' aren't effective, you may want to consider Reflexology.*
I am an experienced clinical practitioner who qualified in 2000 and have built a reputation for a result focussed, empathetic and informed approach to my clients.
Reflexology is a gentle, effective and integrative treatment that can calm your parasympathetic nervous system; giving you the opportunity to calm, relax and find some 'headspace.' This in itself can support effective decision making to help manage your stress levels. Reflexology can also ease any physical symptoms you may be experiencing such as disturbed sleep, digestive issues, overwhelm and tearfulness.
If you would like to discuss any of the issues raised, please contact me directly on 07752 303822 or you can view my online diary by clicking on the link below.

For those of you who are new to my page.....If you are looking for a Reflexologist, there are several things to consider before you book…..
👣What kind of treatment are you after?
Some Reflexologists offer a more ‘relaxing’ treatment which may include face, ear or hand treatments. Reflexologists are not permitted to ‘treat’ specific medical conditions, however, some of us work in clinics and integrate our sessions with conventional care. All of us treat the body holistically and as a whole to re establish balance, natural healing and promote relaxation.
👣What sort of environment do you prefer for treatments?
Some therapists treat in their home or are mobile. Some offer sessions in the workplace, while others work in beauty salons. Others, like myself, work in multidisciplinary clinics or medical settings.
👣How much do treatments cost?
Treatments vary from individuals and part of the country. It’s worth checking what is affordable for you if considering regular sessions.
How do I know I’ve picked a qualified Reflexologist?
👣Those of us who are registered with the Association of Reflexologists have to have completed an extensive training course which now includes 100 hours of practical training and face to face teaching, as well as continue to show continuous professional development (CPD). This ensures you are treated by someone with relevant knowledge, insurance and the support of a recognized governing body. Once registered with the AOR you can also register with other organizations such as the CNHC like myself.
👣For anyone who’s unsure if you have found the right Reflexologist, many of us will happily have an informal chat about your requirements prior to a treatment so you can decide if we’re the person for you.
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

We can't control stressful situations; only how we react and respond to them. When I see clients who are stressed, this subject is often discussed along with relaxation, activities and habits to help support your wellbeing.* The illustration below may be helpful if you are feeling that 'all your boxes are full.' Self care, regular relaxation and movement can also help 'insure' your resilience to future stress.
If you would like to try clinical Reflexology for relaxation and stress, contact me on 07752 303822. I qualified in 2000 and offer clinical treatments in a professional, kind and confidential setting.

Do you suffer with Plantar Fasciitis?
I often see clients in clinic suffering with Plantar Fasciitis. Reflexology combined with additional treatments, home support and the correct physio exercises can often help ease this painful condition.
The plantar fascia is a thick band of tissue that runs along the sole of your foot. It starts in your heel, runs along the arch of your foot and fans out to connect with the base of each toe. It stabilises your foot when you’re walking and acts as a shock absorber.
When your plantar fascia becomes damaged with repeated stress, tiny micro-tears can form, giving pain and discomfort that is mainly in the heel area. This pain is worse after resting particularly overnight, or after periods of inactivity.
Certain risk factors may include
* Being overweight.
* Having high arches in your feet or being flat-footed.
* Doing regular high-impact activities such as running – or suddenly increasing how much of these activities you do.
* Spending a lot of time on your feet. For example, having a job where you’re standing or walking around all day.
* Wearing poorly fitting, worn-out, or unsupportive shoes or trainers.
* Having tight leg muscles or a tight Achilles tendon (the tendon that runs from your heel up the back of your leg). This can affect how you walk and move your foot.
* Having certain types of inflammatory arthritis such as psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.
If you think you have Plantar fasciitis, it's important to get medical advice. Once a diagnosis has been confirmed there are techniques that I can use to help support your recovery. To find out more contact me directly.
