Don’t wait until your feet are screaming in pain before giving them the attention they deserve 👣

So many foot problems can be prevented or treated early with regular foot health check-ups. Corns, cracked heels, fungal nails, verrucas, ingrown toenails and painful pressure points often start as small issues but when ignored, they can quickly become painful and harder to manage.

At Sole at Heart Foot Clinic, we’re seeing more people waiting until they are in significant discomfort before booking an appointment. Unfortunately, by that stage treatment can take longer.
Appointments are in high demand..We are currently fully booked into June, which shows just how important it is to plan ahead and keep on top of your foot health regularly rather than waiting for pain to begin.

Your feet carry you every single day, preventative care matters 💙

Regular check-ups can help:
✔ Prevent painful conditions
✔ Detect problems early
✔ Improve comfort and mobility
✔ Keep nails and skin healthy
✔ Support diabetic foot care
✔ Reduce risk of infection

Listen to your feet today for a healthier tomorrow.

💪 Your muscles don’t know how old you are — they only know how often you use them. 💪

One of the most important things we can do for our health at ANY age is to keep our muscles strong and active. Strength training isn’t just for athletes or younger people — it’s essential for maintaining independence, balance, mobility, bone health, and confidence throughout life.

As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass and strength, but the good news is that our bodies respond incredibly well to regular movement and resistance exercise, no matter when we start.

Helpful strengthening activities can include:
✔️ Walking hills or stairs
✔️ Resistance bands
✔️ Bodyweight exercises like sit-to-stands or wall push-ups
✔️ Pilates or yoga
✔️ Weight training with dumbbells or machines
✔️ Swimming or aqua exercise
✔️ Gardening, carrying shopping and everyday functional movement

The key is consistency — small amounts done regularly can make a huge difference over time.

At Jill Drew Physiotherapy, we help people of all ages build strength safely and confidently, whether you’re recovering from injury, managing pain, or simply wanting to stay active and independent.

It’s never too early — or too late — to get stronger. 🌿

Say Hello to beautiful soft feet 👣

One product we could not work without is the Elim callus tonic, the results speak for themselves.

This product works by softening and breaking down skin through a controlled pH process. By taking the skin temporarily out of its normal pH level, the tonic loosens stubborn buildup so it can be removed with ease.

The Neutraliser is then used to restore the skin back to its healthy pH balance, leaving the feet calm, smooth, and deeply refreshed.

A gentle but powerful treatment for beautifully soft feet every time. ✨

What a day to remember at Glendon Wood Hospital!

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ian Reilly and his fantastic team for giving us such a rare and insightful opportunity behind the operating doors. Experiencing that environment firsthand really highlighted the incredible skill, trust, and teamwork that happens every single day.

It was both humbling and inspiring to see the level of care and commitment that goes into everything they do.
We’re truly grateful for the warm welcome and for everyone who made the day so special thank you again for having us!

Today, our clinic is closed as we’ve been given an incredible opportunity to step behind the scenes and shadow Mr Reilly in his operating surgery. 🏥👨‍⚕️

Experiences like this allow us to continue learning, growing, and bringing even higher standards of care back to our patients. We’re excited to take in every moment and bring that knowledge straight back to you!

Thank you for your understanding we’ll be back soon

A Dubai Confession
I’ll admit it. I was a skeptic. I used to think a flip-flop was just a flip-flop, convenient, sure, but definitely not a "serious" shoe. But after a recent trip to Dubai, I’m officially eating my words and singing the praises of my Archies.
Here is the truth: during a single week in Dubai, I clocked 30,000 steps in my Archies. And I didn't just do it once 🙈 I did it twice.
Why the Skepticism Ended
Usually, a 30k-step day in regular thongs would leave my arches screaming and my legs feeling like lead. But these are different. Because they are physiotherapist-designed, they offer actual, structural support that moves with you.
• Real Support: That built-in arch isn't just for show; it kept my feet aligned through miles of marble mall floors and pathways.
• No "Clawing": The strap is designed to fit snugly, meaning I didn't have to constantly grip with my toes to keep them on.
• Zero Blisters: Despite the heat and the sheer volume of walking, the specialized foam didn't rub or chafe.
The Verdict
If you can survive 60,000 steps in a week across the glittering, expansive landscape of Dubai without a single foot ache, you know you’ve found something special.
Whether you’re poolside or taking a stroll , it’s time to stop settling for flat, flimsy footwear. Trust me and my 60k steps—your feet deserve the Archies difference.

We are not encouraging people to buy these for long walks like I did but just merely explaining these are not your every day flip-flops.

Did you know at Sole At Heart we are trained practitioners with Onyfix.

What’s Onyfix we hear you saying ……..

Onyfix is a non-invasive nail correction system designed to treat and prevent ingrown toenails.

It works by applying a composite band to the nail plate, which gently guides the nail to grow in a more natural, flatter shape over time. This reduces pressure at the nail edges and helps relieve discomfort.

Onyfix is suitable for patients with:
• Involuted (curved) nails
• Ingrown toenails (early to moderate stages)
• Recurrent nail problems
• Nail edge pressure or discomfort

Because it is pain-free and does not involve cutting or surgery, it is a safe option for a wide range of patients, including those who may not be suitable for invasive procedures.

Results improve as the nail grows, making it an effective long-term solution rather than a temporary fix.

Today, Nina and I took some dedicated time out for a wellbeing day,An important reminder of the value of stepping back and recharging. The sunshine made it all the more enjoyable.

As professionals, it’s easy to become fully immersed in the demands of a busy clinic and overlook the importance of our own wellbeing.

It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly a year since we moved into our larger clinic. In that time, we’ve grown significantly, now supporting a combined of over 1,400 patients. It’s been an incredibly rewarding and fast-paced year.

Taking time to reset ensures we can continue to provide the highest standard of care.

We now look ahead to another busy and productive week.

Nothing makes us happier than seeing our patients walk out feeling comfortable, confident… and sometimes even dancing!

This lovely patient came to us through friends at the local bowls club, and we’re so pleased to say he left the clinic smiling 😊

Recommendations like this mean the world to us thank you for your trust!

Happy Friday 🌞

A little story from clinic last week that really says it all…

One of my patients told me a friend had asked her,
“Why do you go and get your feet done so regularly?” 6-8 week intervals.

Her response?
“Because I want to look after my feet.”

Simple—but so important.

She loves to dance. She’s always on her feet, enjoying life, keeping active, doing what she loves. And she understands that looking after her feet isn’t just a treat it’s part of staying mobile, independent, and pain-free.

The truth is, so many people wait until something hurts before they take action. But by then, what could have been a small, manageable issue can turn into something much more uncomfortable and harder to treat.

Regular foot care:
• Helps prevent problems before they start
• Keeps you comfortable in your daily life
• Supports balance, mobility, and confidence
• Allows you to keep doing the things you love

Your feet do a lot for you every single day… the least we can do is return the favour.

Don’t wait for pain to be your reminder—make foot care part of your routine. 👣 #👣
