Brighton > Italy > France > Northampton

Kirk & Kirk frames are always a popular choice and we love working with this iconic British brand. Their story of artist and scientist coming together to create compelling eyewear is one that really resonates.

Did you know the journey taken by every pair? It’s a whistle-stop tour of British creativity and European innovation.

Every frame is thoughtfully designed by Karen Kirk, the company’s Creative Director based in Brighton. Karen’s passion for fashion and keen eye for style shines through. From concept to creation, her innovative designs capture the essence of individuality and self-expression.

The brands’s core material K-Lite™ is sourced from Italy and is custom made. These personalised colour selections and combinations are one of the reasons that Kirk & Kirk eyewear is so distinctive. The colours are specific to Kirk & Kirk frames and cannot be duplicated.

To maintain the high quality and specificity of all frames and designs, each frame is handmade from start to finish in France.

Each frame gets turned in barrels of woodchip and pumice for about two days, from where it is hand-polished to remove any remaining blemishes and create the signature vitreous, translucent glow.

By keeping the production in one factory from start to finish the quality is always controlled, checking it four times during the production process and then again before being printed with the logo, the ultimate seal of approval.

Once formed into eyewear, each frame individually constructed and inspected. The frames then find their way to the world.

Browse the Kirk & Kirk collection in our frame gallery today.

To truly understand the impact of complex eye conditions, it’s vital we speak in depth to the people that are able to tell us precisely what they actually mean and how they actually feel - the patient themselves.

Until you experience living with a complex eye condition yourself it’s very difficult to put yourself in the patient’s shoes and truly understand the impact it has on everyday life.

While attending the GSLS event in Las Vegas, Brian had the opportunity to chart with Rebecca, Jeff and Ash. These three people have devoted so much of their time to helping fellow patients and eye care professionals better understand and manage the eye conditions they themselves live with every day.

From finding the perfect scleral lens to battling dry eye, these three know only too well the struggles faced by people around the world. Hearing their stories, and learning more about their journeys, was an invalauble takeaway from an unforgettable trip.

Thank you so much to all three for sharing their stories. It really does make a difference.

As one of the UK’s leading contact lens practices, it’s important to stay on top of the latest breakthroughs in technology and products as we strive to achieve improved visual quality for our patients.

Our own Brian Tompkins was proud to be part of a panel discussion at the recent Global Scleral Lens Symposium event held at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.

The conference saw 600 of the world’s most foremost eye care professionals come together to share their thoughts on the ever-changing landscape of speciality contact lenses for patients with conditions such as keratoconus and myopia and those requiring scleral lenses or treatments for higher order aberrations (HOAs).

We were honoured to receive an award at the event for our dedication to treating patients with HOAs, something we have been particularly passionate about since becoming the first practice in the UK to use the groundbreaking OVITZ.us technology.

As always, the event was a fantastic opportunity to network and chat with the biggest names in optometry.

Brian had the chance to speak to prominent scleral and keratoconus influencers including , Ash Arellanes () from the Angel Eyes Foundation and Rebecca Petris from the .

Normally what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but this time we are definitely going to be sharing our learnings and will treasure the real-life stories that shine a light on the everyday issues experienced by HOA patients.

Thank you Las Vegas. Thank you GSLS. And thank you to everyone we met along the way.

It's almost time for the big night!

The Optician Awards are the Oscars of our profession and we are incredibly honoured (and just a little bit excited!) to be shortlisted in four categories.

Amar is up for the Dispensing Optician of the Year award, Brian is shortlisted for Optometrist of the Year and the practice is up for both Dry Eye Practice of the Year and the Myopia Management Award.

We'll be heading down to London tomorrow for the 90s-themed ceremony and, win or lose, we're going to have a damn good night! Wish us luck!
