Today on International Nurses Day, we’re celebrating the compassion, strength and dedication of nurses across our communities 💚

There are so many amazing nurses making a difference every single day, so today we wanted to give a special shout out to one nurse who truly deserves a huge thank you
Hayley Cole.

Hayley’s journey began in 1996 when she started her nurse training because she “didn’t know what else to do after college.”

Fast forward to 2026, and she’s beginning a new role continuing to learn, develop and challenge herself by stepping outside of her comfort zone.

Despite the changes and challenges along the way, one thing has stayed the same: her passion for supporting people and families through some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Hayley’s story is a reminder that nursing is more than a profession, it’s leadership, resilience, teamwork and compassion in action.

On behalf of Northamptonshire Health Charity, thank you to all nursing colleagues across NHFT and UHN for the incredible care, fundraising, innovation and support you give every single day.

Good luck to our two superstars taking on events this weekend:

Josh Golding is tackling the Boughton Backyard Ultra Marathon (4.2 miles, every hour, on the hour for as long as he can run for) and Emma Deaker is running the Milton Keynes Marathon in memory of her dad, Brian.

We’re so grateful for every step you’re running to support Northamptonshire Health Charity.

Wow! What a day 💚
Yesterday, our incredible team of 14 runners took on the London Marathon, covering a combined total of 366.8 miles, along with many, many more steps just getting to the start line.

From everyone at Northamptonshire Health Charity, thank you. Your commitment, energy and determination have been inspiring to see, and we are so grateful for everything you have done to support your local NHS.

Together, you have raised an amazing £38,000 (and this number is increasing by the minute), all to enhance care across Northamptonshire at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust, Kettering General Hospital and Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Every pound will help fund projects that enhance care for patients, support families and for staff across Northamptonshire.

To Aaron, Becky, Chris, Gill, Hayley, Helen, Jack, Jen, Laura, Louise, Lisa, Luke, Mark and Polly, thank you for being part of this. Your efforts will make a real difference.

Today’s the day! 💚

Thank you from all of us at Northamptonshire Health Charity and the very best of luck to all of our incredible runners taking part in this year’s London Marathon.

Each of them have committed countless hours to training, preparation and fundraising, all in support of our local NHS.
This year, 14 dedicated individuals are representing our Charity, many of whom are NHS staff from across the county.

Thank you to Aaron, Becky, Chris, Gill, Hayley, Helen, Jack, Jen, Laura, Louise, Lisa, Luke, Mark and Polly.

Your dedication and determination will make a meaningful difference to the hospitals we support, to patients and their families, and to the hardworking staff who care for them every day. We are so grateful for everything you are doing. We will be cheering you on every step of the way.

💚 Celebrating our London Marathon Runners: Chris 💚
With just under two days to go until the London Marathon, we’re proud to introduce one of our incredible runners, Chris, who is taking on this challenge to support Northamptonshire Health Charity.

🏃 Why he's running:
Chris is running in memory of his daughter Esmé, honouring her and supporting others who may experience similar loss. Chris and his wife Carmen have been huge supporters of the Charity having held a family day and charity concert last year and much more. We are ever grateful for their continued support and will be cheering Chris along every step of the way.

💚 Celebrating our London Marathon Runners: Jack 💚
With the London Marathon in just a couple of days, we’re proud to introduce one of our incredible runners, Jack, who is taking on this challenge to support Northamptonshire Health Charity.

🏃 Why he's running:
Jack works in the Communications Team at NHFT and sees first hand the impact of charitable support across services.

Outside of work, Jack is also a keen football and cricket player and has also already taken part in the Amazing Northampton Run to support our charity!

💚 Celebrating our London Marathon Runners: Luke 💚
With just a few to go until the London Marathon, we’re pleased to introduce another one of our incredible runners, Luke, who is taking on this challenge to support Northamptonshire Health Charity.

Luke works in stores and procurement at Northampton General Hospital and is proud to support the place he works.

He is getting creative with his fundraising, inviting people to join him and his sausage dog, Dennis, on walks, bake sales, pet paw-traits and selling clothes as part of his journey.
