A real showstopper of a morning over in Market Harborough today 🎶🎭

Our group spent the morning in a musical theatre session with the lovely Mia. It’s safe to say it was a real hit! 🪩

There was a mixture of music, movement and performance, with everyone getting involved at their own pace. From learning routines to just enjoying the music and freestyling, it was brilliant.

Musical theatre is a powerful tool. It supports communication without pressure and builds so much confidence through creativity. It’s also a great way to boost mood, especially first thing in the morning, lifting everyone’s spirits.

Unleashing those inner warriors 🥋

This morning our group took part in an energising martial arts session and what a brilliant way to start the day (especially a Monday!) ⚡

Beyond the kicks and techniques, sessions like these are about so much more than physical activity. Our team is building confidence, discipline, and resilience. It’s also a great way to encourage teamwork, communication, and perseverance.

We’re deeply saddened to share that one of our beautiful Sensational family, Millie, unexpectedly passed away last week.

Millie had been a part of Sensational for the past 18 months, and in that time we watched her confidence grow and grow. She became such an independent, strong character who brought so much to our days and to everyone who spent time with her.

She loved to dance, she loved music, and she loved getting out on trips with her friends — in truth, she would put her hand to anything and give it a go with a smile, she was a happy soul loved by all.

She will be missed dearly.

We will share funeral arrangements in due course.

Our thoughts and our love are with Karen, Richard, and all of Millie’s family and friends at this beyond difficult time. 🧡

We proudly attended the National Down Syndrome Policy Group Advisory Summit 💡, where important conversations took place and wishes for a more inclusive future were shared. Alongside this, we paid a visit to Spratton Primary School and got creative making our very own Odd Socks… because matching socks are overrated anyway 🧦😉!

This week we have had fantastic fun, from bug spotting and sunshine walks at Abington Park, to coffee catchups and thoroughly enjoying our time with Market Harborough’s resident dog! 🐶

We baked, crafted and danced.. rocking out in the best ways we know how. With a timetable full of exciting activities next week, we cannot wait to share more with you! ✨🪩
