I’ve always loved reading, and bedtime stories were a big part of raising my children and of my childhood.

That same sense of safety, comfort and calm is now woven into my solution focused hypnotherapy sessions.

Seeing this note written by a client’s daughter reminds me how powerful it is to help someone drift peacefully off to sleep, and how that calm can spread beyond the therapy room.

Yesterday started at 4am as I headed to Belfast with my daughter for a special treat together ✨
We arrived early for our 8.35am flight. Everything showed on time… despite the storm.

Then at 9.40 we were told the flight was cancelled and rebooked for 18.40 that evening.

It could have ruined the weekend.
It could have coloured the whole day with frustration and disappointment.

But instead, we chose something different.

We left the airport, wandered, talked, laughed, and shared a lovely meal.
The waiter, hearing our story, kindly treated us to a cocktail 🍸
We gained time together we wouldn’t normally have had.

We eventually arrived in Belfast over 12 hours late…
but after a genuinely good day.

Life doesn’t always go to plan.
There will always be delays, storms, and unexpected turns.

What makes the difference isn’t what happens
it’s how we respond.

Let’s kick but’s butt 👊

Did you know that when you finish a sentence with “but”, that’s the part your brain remembers?

“I had a lovely day… but my journey home was rubbish.”

Suddenly, the lovely day disappears, replaced by the rubbish journey.
