As the festive season approaches, we kindly remind our patients that:

📅 Our last working day before Christmas will be Wednesday 24th December closed at 5.30pm. Please collect any medication needed before then.
Reopen Monday 29th Dec 8.30am

We will be closed the following days.

Saturday 27th Dec

To help ensure everyone receives their medication in time, we’d really appreciate your support with the following:

⏳ Give Us Time to Prepare Your Medication

Due to significantly higher demand, we will need up to 2 working days to safely prepare prescriptions once they are received from your GP.

📩 Wait for Notification Before Coming In

We kindly ask that you do not phone the pharmacy to check on the status of your prescription, and please do not come in to collect until you receive a text or email confirming it is ready.
This helps us work efficiently and prioritise patient safety.

🕐 Collect Promptly Once Notified

Once you receive a notification, please collect your medication as soon as possible.
Space is very limited at this time of year, and prompt collection helps us manage safely.

📢 Get Your Free NHS Flu and COVID Booster Jabs at Earls Barton Pharmacy! 💉 Starting 1st October.

Protect yourself and those around you this winter by getting your free NHS flu jab and COVID booster. It’s quick, easy, and helps keep our community healthy and safe!

Please be advised in line with NHS criteria this autumn COVID booster is only avaliable to those who are 75 yrs + or severly immunocomprised/immunosupression only.

We are offering a private Flu and COVID jab service also.

To confuse matters, NHS FLU jabs will be available in Autumn for those aged 65 or over and those with chronic qualifying conditions such as Asthma, diabetes, heart disease etc. This means that many will be eligible for a free FLU jab but not a COVID jab.

This is an NHS decision, but we will have to enforce it at our clinics and hope that you’ll understand.

Now offering NHS Spring Covid-19 Booster Jabs!

We’re all set for the Spring Covid Booster campaign starting 1st April.
As we move into spring, protection from any earlier COVID-19 vaccination you may have had will be starting to wane.

COVID-19 can still be very dangerous and even life threatening, particularly for older people and those with a weakened immune system.

Thankfully, for those who are more likely to become seriously ill from COVID-19, the NHS offers a free vaccine in the spring to top up their protection. This was previously known as the ‘Spring Booster’.

Who is eligible for the Free NHS COVID-19 vaccination this spring?-
-adults aged 75 years and over
-residents in a care home for older adults
-individuals aged 6 months and over who have a weakened immune system

📢 Important Update: Norovirus Cases in the UK 📢

Dear Patients,

We’re seeing an increase in norovirus cases across the UK, so it’s important to stay informed and protect yourself and your loved ones. Norovirus, often referred to as the "winter vomiting bug," spreads easily and can cause symptoms such as:

Nausea and vomiting

Diarrhoea

Stomach cramps, fever, and aching muscles

💡 How to Protect Yourself:

Wash hands regularly with soap and water (hand sanitizers are less effective against norovirus).

Disinfect surfaces, especially in shared areas.

Avoid sharing towels and utensils.

Stay home if you're unwell to prevent spreading the virus.

If You’re Unwell:

Stay hydrated by sipping water or oral rehydration solutions.

Rest and stick to plain, easy-to-digest foods once you feel better.

If symptoms persist or worsen, seek advice from your GP or pharmacist.
