✨ New Class: Practices to Calm the Mind ✨
I’m introducing a new class designed to help calm the mind, downregulate the nervous system, and build a toolbox of techniques and strategies to develop resilience for when life feels tougher. The aim is to help you cultivate a calmer, more peaceful day-to-day experience.
Classes will include:
• 💤 Yoga Nidra (yogic deep sleep)
• 🌿 Gentle movement leading into calm and stillness
• 🎧 Guided relaxations and meditations
• 🔕 Short silent meditations
• 🪷 Yin Yoga
Meditation for the Western mind can be a real challenge. We’re constantly inundated with input — for years, even decades — so to expect the mind to “switch off” the moment we sit (cross-legged or otherwise) is, quite honestly, unrealistic. This is why so many people feel they “fail” at meditation (and I don’t use that word lightly).
Practices to Calm the Mind is a practical and pragmatic class. There’ll be opportunity to for discussion; what to expect, what’s normal, how to support yourself day to day as well as lots of calm. The aim is to give you the best possible chance of building a sustainable personal practice to down-regulate and reset your nervous system.
