Now in her 5th decade, and having travelled around quite a lot of this planet, Jo's focus is on massage. She's currently upgrading from her Sports Massage certification (L3) to Clinical Massage (L5). After 20 years working overseas, including time living in a cave and a stint as a Professional Mermaid, Jo returned to the UK in 2023, with Teaching Certificates & experience in Freediving, Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Barre & Pilates, and Certifications in Culinary Nutrition, Indian Head Massage & Usui Reiki. If you're curious as to who I am, here's an ad-hoc video, unrehearsed, authentic & organic, giving a little insight into how and why I love to teach breathing and my 'past life' as a Freediving Instructor in the Carribean.

What I didn't share was that I was also the first professional Mermaid (yep, with a tail n everything) in the Turks & Caicos islands. Alistair (Cap'n of a semi-sub) and I created a whole thang with a pirate and a mermaid and a conch shell. #

In a world of busy gyms and crowded studios, there’s something really special about practising in a small, intimate group.

At my private micro-studio in Abington (just off Park Avenue North), I keep classes to just 4 people max — which means:
🌿 Personal attention & hands-on adjustments
🌿 Space to explore your body mechanics safely
🌿 A calm, welcoming environment where you’re truly seen
🌿 Time to deepen your practice and ask questions

I offer a blend of techniques to support your whole self:
💨 Breathing practices
🧘‍♀️ Yoga (Hatha & Yin)
🧘 Pilates
🌸 Meditation & relaxation

Workshops and classes are tailored to you, whether your goal is mobility, strength, flexibility, or simply a chance to pause and reconnect.

Feeling this today.

The latter part of my (HRT assisted) cycle is always a challenge. The feels could be labelled low, flat, uninspired, uncreative etc. But I’m learning to reframe it, to embrace and accept, to nurture and be still, to use this time in different ways.

That’s not easy when you’re surrounded by stuff that needs doing.

A cute little time-lapse of my changing my little studio space around ready for my next group class. She's seen some activity this week, a Gentle Pilates class for those dealing with joint issues, a clinical massage for a wonderful lady with a very challenged hip joint, a 1:1 Pilates for a lovely bloke with limited ROM in the posterior chain (he wanted to get back to playing cricket, and now is), a private Yoga class for a mother & daughter, and relaxing deep tissue massages for clients who need to breathe and be.

Everyone that comes to me needs, but also WANTS, to work towards optimal health of mind and body, to optimise their movement and mobility, their mind body connection and, whether they realise it or not, to give their nervous systems time and space to reset.

I work on a private basis and from home, which means I have flexibility with scheduling. I work mainly through referrals and recommendations so rarely use SM, but with the studio space now up & running I thought it worth the share xx

The studio is an intimate space, and very local to Birchfield Rd Community shops, the Abington Health Complex and Cedar Rd primary.

WOMENS GENTLE MAT PILATES CLASS – SPOTS AVAILABLE (Abington).

Hello! I have 1 spot in my Monday morning 09:30 class. There’s also the potential to host a 2nd class mid-week, either on a Weds or Thurs morning, same time.

These are very intimate, small group classes. My micro-studio has space for 4 participants, therefore unlike a gym, drop-ins are not offered.

This class is ideal for a committed person, needing a slower paced experience. Just like in any Pilates class we use balls, bands, weights, etc and move to challenge the mind, breath, core, and all the major muscle groups & joints. It’s still strength and mobility, we just move a little slower when necessary, and I offer variations & adjustments to accommodate restrictions and/or limitations.

This is a mind/body style class and teaches a lot of controlled movements throughout the body. Due to its detailed & mindful nature, this class therefore requires fluency in English 🙏🏼
