Following last week’s meeting where we discussed the committee’s views and recommendations on the future of the NFDS forum a vote was taken by those in attendance and in response the committee was approved to start dissolving the Northamptonshire Federation of Disability Sport as a constituted group and to work with Northamptonshire Sport to ensure that Disability Sport stays at the forefront of our thoughts.

All those signed up to NFDS will have received an email earlier this week from the secretary confirming this decision.

The Federation of Disability Sport Community Fund is open for applications until 1st April 2025.

Through this fund, grants of up to £500 will be awarded to groups for sports clubs and organisations within Northamptonshire that offer or wish to offer regular sporting sessions aimed at Disabled people or those with long-term health conditions or mental health conditions.

For Children's Mental Health Week 2025 (3rd Feb-9th Feb), libraries in Northamptonshire are holding 'Explore and Connect' family fayres.

These events invite families to engage in fun activities that promote wellbeing while providing the opportunity to connect with local services that support children's and young people's mental health.

Join us at Towcester Centre for Leisure for DISC on Sunday 19 January 2025 our renowed Disability Inclusive Sports Club.

Activities this session include Dance with Laszlo's and Football Skills with plenty more opportunities to have fun with exercise from 3pm to 4pm.
