Screening can help detect bowel cancer early, often before symptoms appear.

During Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, we are encouraging eligible individuals to take part in bowel cancer screening when invited.

Research is helping to improve screening programmes and outcomes for patients. As part of this work, we are a research-active hospital currently recruiting patients to studies aimed at improving cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Hayfever season is here again 🌼🤧
If you’re dealing with sneezing, itchy eyes, a runny nose, or that constant “foggy” feeling, you’re definitely not alone. Pollen levels start to rise in spring and summer across the UK, and for many of us it can really affect day-to-day life.
The good news is there are plenty of ways to manage it:
✔️ Over-the-counter antihistamines from your local pharmacy
✔️ Nasal sprays to reduce inflammation
✔️ Eye drops for irritation
✔️ Daily prevention tips like keeping windows closed during high pollen days and showering after being outside
You can get advice and treatment easily from places like your local pharmacy or online services such as NHS 111. Many pharmacies can recommend the right medication without needing an appointment.
If your symptoms are severe or not improving, it’s always worth speaking to a GP about stronger treatments or long-term options.
Take care of yourselves this pollen season 🌿
