The Prime Minister's announcement regarding the urgent provision of COVID booster vaccines was news to us yesterday evening too.
We do not know any details of additional capacity at this stage.
If you are eligible for any covid vaccination please book online https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or call 119.

Dear patients. We have currently run out of over 65's flu vaccines. We are urgently trying to procure more. In the meantime, we recommend you try a local pharmacy. We apologise for the inconvenience, but the situation is unfortunately out of our control. Kind regards.

Dear patients.

You may already be aware that we are inviting those eligible for their Covid-19 Booster. In order to be eligible, 6 months must have passed since your second Covid vaccination. Once this 6 months has passed, we will invite you via text message or letter, to book into one of our Saturday clinics.

If you are eligible for your Covid-19 vaccine, the chances are you are also eligible for your Flu vaccine, which you can have at the same time as your Booster.

If you wish to book earlier for your Flu vaccine, please call the King Edward Road Surgery on 01604 611600.

There has been a recent blood bottle shortage. However, we are now able to accept routine blood tests again. If you are due your annual review, please contact Reception on 01604 611600 to book your blood test.

We are one of Northamptonshire’s leading training practices, consisting of six partner GPs, six Practice Nurses, one Paramedic and a support team looking after approximately 11,800 patients. We have a vacancy for a full time Receptionist to join our team of 11.

Reporting to the Reception Manager, the ideal candidate will have experience of a busy customer facing role in a surgery or similar environment and must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. They will have a calm, helpful and flexible attitude and pride themselves on accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Receptionists take incoming calls and make outgoing calls to patients, help process prescriptions, chaperone GP consultations, deal with general enquiries, handle post, and complete various tasks for all staff. You will always be busy, but the days go quickly, and the Team is very supportive.

Salary = £7.83 rising to £8.25 after 6 months successful performance

Hours:

Monday: 08.00 – 18.00 (9)
Tuesday: 08.00 – 18.00 (9)
Wednesday: Day off
Thursday: 08.00 – 18.00 (9)
Friday: 08.00 – 18.00 (9)

Total: 36 hours

Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays

PARAMEDIC

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Paramedic Practitioner with excellent clinical skills to join our friendly supportive team. We are a training practice and operate from a modern health centre in the centre of Northampton. We have 11,900 patients with 7 GPs, GP registrars, and 6 Nurses. The surgery received a “good” rating following its CQC inspection.

The successful candidate will:

Initially conduct home visits for our housebound and care home patients.
Work alongside GPs and Nursing Staff in managing acute illness in our patients.
Diagnose and treat patients presenting with minor illnesses in face to face clinics.
Help in the management of long term conditions.
Recommend referrals to secondary care where appropriate.

Ideal candidates should have:

Excellent organisation and communication skills.
Qualified paramedic or specialist paramedic registered with the HCPC.
Competent IT skills (Systmone practice).
A friendly and positive attitude.
This is a new and exciting opportunity for the right person to join our team in delivering exceptional services to our patients. Hours will be flexible and the salary will be dependent upon experience. Job share and flexible working will be considered. Happy Christmas to all. The Surgery is fully closed from 6.30pm on Friday 22nd December to 8.00am Wednesday 27th December. Then we are closed again from 6.30pm Friday 30th December to 8.00am Tuesday 2nd January. When we are closed, call 111 for urgent medical assistance, and 999 for emergencies.

On Wednesday 10th May from 2pm to 4pm The Surgery will be hosting a Falls Awareness Day, in conjunction with Age UK and the Surgery Patient Participation Group. Its aimed at the over 75's and their carers. No need to register to attend. Please note that the Surgery will be closed to normal business from 12.30 that day.
