This delightful lady back today 8 years after the left foot bunion/hammer toe fix. It’s always instructive to see how your work fares over time. Just a tweak at the DIP joint but otherwise very pleasing. Good RoM both toes and no pain. I’ve been expecting the call for ‘t’other side.

Probably the worst 1st MTP joint I’ve ever had to fuse. Severe eburnation of the cartilage so inevitable loss of length to get back to good bone. Fused (I hope) with two Ortho Solutions 4.0 cannulated screws. See the penultimate picture for the lateral, dorsal and medial exostectomies and joint surfaces.

It’s not often I get to see my nail surgery patients after my nursing team take them on for wound care. This lovely gentleman wanted to stop by three months post left 1/2 phenolic total nails avulsions to say TY. He had thick and painful mycotic nails and was delighted with the outcome. It’s a simple procedure that usually works but there are some tips and pearls for success.
