Although osteopaths are well known for treating back pain, the practice of osteopathy can help relieve the symptoms of a wide range of conditions. Osteopaths treat joint pain, neuromuscular conditions, digestive conditions, headaches and sleep problems. Osteopaths are commonly known for treating back pain and postural problems including changes due to pregnancy, caused by driving or work strain, the pain of arthritis and minor sports injuries. Osteopathic patients include the young, older people, manual workers, office professionals, pregnant women, children and sports people.

Patients have also found osteopathy helpful for conditions such as digestive issues, circulatory problems, neuralgia and problems sleeping and for the symptoms of many others.

All our Osteopaths will spend time with you to understand, not only your symptoms, but how they relate to your lifestyle, occupation, sport or leisure time to endeavour to find and treat the cause of the symptoms thereby allowing you to return to health as quickly as possible.

Osteopathy is a trusted, regulated healthcare profession. By law, every osteopath must be registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and this registration is renewed every year to make sure they’re safe and qualified to practice.

To become an osteopath, you need to complete a 4 to 5 year degree (bachelor’s or master’s), which includes over 1,000 hours of hands-on clinical training. Some even go on to achieve PhDs!

When you’re looking for an osteopath, it’s always a good idea to check their name on the GOsC register before booking, so you know you’re in safe hands.🙌🏻

At Brixworth Osteopathic Clinic, you don’t need to worry as all of our osteopaths are fully registered and meet the highest standards of care, so you can feel confident and comfortable from the moment you walk through our doors.

Guess what treatment Elizabeth’s been doing this week……..

Breathing work, obviously!! 🧘‍♀️💨

What looks like the aftermath of a wrestling match with some space hoppers, is actually just the glorious chaos of a very good session!

Parent check in!

How are your children settling back into the school routine? Have there been complaints of back or shoulder aches with the carrying of heavy school bags, posture issues now they are back sitting at their desks for much of the day, or perhaps a PE mishap has left them sitting on the sidelines…?

Children, like adults, can be affected by general joint and muscle issues, which is one of the reasons people visit an osteopath.

Children’s requirements differ depending on the stage of their development. As they grow from infants, toddlers, children to teenagers, we will consider your child’s individual needs, age and stage of development, and adapt their advice and treatment accordingly.

Book in for our free 15 minute consultation with us if you are unsure that osteopathy is right for your child 💙
