Calm • Comfort • Connection Welcome to Huddle & Bliss

I’m Sherry Prosser, an Infant & Maternal Wellbeing Specialist based at The Maple Tree Clinic in Northampton. I support parents and babies to build strong, calm, connected foundations in the early weeks and beyond. My work combines nervous system regulation, bonding and attachment, developmental insight, digestion and settling support, and gentle, evidence-informed care for both mother and baby. Alongside my private practice, I also provide specialist infant wellbeing support within Residential Family Assessment Units, working closely with staff teams to strengthen parent–baby relationships in more complex circumstances. Whether you are navigating a fractious baby, birth trauma, feeding tension, digestive discomfort, or simply wanting to lay the very best foundations for your family, I’m here to help you feel calmer, more confident and deeply supported. In addition to my signature classes and workshops, I offer Half-Day and Full-Day Home Calm Sessions — restorative, unhurried in-home support that brings calm, comfort and clarity into your fourth trimester. These sessions allow me to observe your baby's natural rhythm, support you emotionally, and gently guide your baby into a more regulated, settled state. My approach is warm, no-fluff, and grounded in science. I believe that both parents and babies thrive when they feel seen, held and understood — and every part of my work reflects that. When I’m with an unsettled baby, I don’t start by asking what needs fixing.

I start by looking for what’s already working.

How does the baby respond to touch?
What happens when the pace slows?
How does the baby settle with their parent?

There is almost always something helping — it just hasn’t been noticed yet.

Foundations matter more than fixes.
And understanding changes everything.

When a baby is unsettled, it’s tempting to reach for strategies straight away.

Techniques, tips, tools.

And sometimes these help. But often they don’t — not because the strategy is wrong, but because the timing isn’t right.

Before babies can benefit from strategies, they need nervous system safety.

A dysregulated system can’t take in more input, even when it’s well-intended.

Co-regulation always comes before self-regulation.

It’s not about doing more.
It’s about doing things in the right order.

Often what helps most isn’t a better technique — but a calmer moment in which to receive it.

Many parents are quietly carrying the pressure to get everything right.

Right responses.
Right routines.
Right timing.

Over time, this can lead to constant checking and second-guessing — a state of low-level vigilance that’s exhausting.

Babies don’t need perfect responses.
They need present, responsive ones — and repair when things don’t go to plan.

Good-enough parenting isn’t a compromise.
It’s exactly what nervous systems are built for.

Perfection is rigid.
Regulation is flexible.

So many behaviours that worry parents make perfect sense when we understand development.

Frequent waking.
Wanting constant closeness.
Difficulty settling.

When behaviour is seen as communication rather than a problem, something shifts.

Parents stop asking “How do I stop this?”
And start asking “What is my baby telling me?”

Understanding often reduces anxiety far more than reassurance ever could.

Nothing has to change — except the meaning we give it.

I have stepped away from the studio for a few days...so no class photos this week to select a photo of the week from...so here is one of me with son no.1 when he was six weeks old. I remember this photo being taken and how tired I felt!

Babies don’t learn calm from instructions.

They learn it through experience.

They borrow our pace, our breath, our tone, our state — long before they understand words.

This doesn’t mean parents need to be perfectly calm. That’s neither realistic nor helpful.

But babies do benefit from adults who can notice their own state and soften it when needed.

Calm isn’t something we teach.
It’s something we share.

And when calm is shared, babies feel it — even when nothing is said.

Baby-led. Always 🤍
In our classes, babies come first — always.
That means feeds happen when they’re needed.
Mid-class top ups are welcomed, not apologised for.
Because babies don’t just use energy in their bodies…
they use it in their brains too.
Movement, touch, connection, learning — it all takes fuel.
There’s no rush here.
No disruption.
Just responsive care, exactly when it’s needed.

Why menopause support matters to me...

I experienced early menopause and I’m now many years post-menopause.That means I’ve lived the transition — and I’ve also had the distance to understand it.

My work isn’t about quick fixes or dramatic stories. It’s about helping women make sense of what’s happening in their bodies, calm their nervous systems, and feel more like themselves again.

Menopause doesn’t need fear.It needs clarity, support, and steady guidance.
That’s what these upcoming workshops and 1:1 sessions are designed to offer.

The average ago of perimenopause beginning is 45, but for one in a 100 women (like me) it's under 40...don't leave it too late 🧡

Babies → parents → midlife women.
Same nervous system. Different chapter.

For years, my work has centred on regulation — calming the nervous system, building resilience, restoring balance.

First in babies. Then in parents.
And now, increasingly, in women navigating midlife and menopause.

The body doesn’t suddenly change it's rules at 45.
Hormones shift, yes — but the nervous system is still the conductor.
When we understand what’s actually happening, everything feels less chaotic and far more manageable.

This isn’t about “fixing” women.
It’s about understanding the chapter you’re in — and supporting your body properly through it.

Clarity over chaos.
Always.
