The Crow Moon, also known as the worm moon, rises as winter begins to loosen its grip. The ground softens, the days stretch a little longer, and life starts to stir at the edges. In older traditions, this moon was named for the return of crows’ calls. Their sharp cawing carrying across fields as frozen earth thawed and food became easier to find. It marked a shift, not quite spring, but the clear knowledge that change was underway.
I’ve always been drawn to crows. Watching them perched on fence posts, pacing thoughtfully through fields, or lifting suddenly into the sky as if answering some unseen signal. Under this moon, they feel like messengers of in-between moments: winter to spring, quiet to movement, waiting to becoming. The Crow Moon reminds us to pay attention to what’s stirring, even if it’s subtle. Not everything arrives all at once. Some things announce themselves softly, on black wings, against a brightening sky. Think about what’s stirring in you 🐦⬛
