First Aid Refreshers:
There is nothing worse than a first-aider not knowing what to do in an emergency because they have not maintained their skills. A refresher course can help maintain your basic skills and keep up-to-date with any changes in first aid procedures. We offer first aid refreshers through online modules that are easily accessible and F2F (Classroom based).
Although refresher courses are not obligatory, the HSE and all awarding bodies “strongly recommend” that qualified first-aiders undergo an annual 3-hour refresher. We can offer you online Theory Refresher courses on our Student Management System (LMS), this covers the theory aspect only.
Having theoretical first aid knowledge is good but It is important that you refresh your practical skills in a classroom with us. It is usual for training companies to charge for refreshers, Crisilience clients always receive "free" annual refreshers. What does the HSE say about first aid training providers?
Why you should choose our Emergency Response Team (ERT) training
An Emergency Response Team is a group of people who respond to any emergency incident, such as national disasters or accidents on a business site. Nationally, 40% of deaths in the UK are attributed to catastrophic bleeding. If an emergency situation dictates that an ERT can respond, this training could save more lives.
We offer 2-day ERT training based on our CIMAT programme. This is a follow-on course after you have completed your first aid training course. Our training programme is a major product of our CIMAT programme and is aimed at training members of the Emergency Response Teams of organisations, like Security, Fire Marshals, First-aiders and members of the Crisis Management Team. General employees, who are not part of an ERT, can also be trained to act as support or react effectively and confidently in the absence of an ERT during a critical incident.
What is ERT training for?
The course trains individuals in dealing with catastrophic injuries or an aftermath of an attack. The attack could involve:
Active shooter
Knife attacks
Planted IED (Improvised Explosive Device)
PBIED (Person-Borne IED)
VBIED (Vehicle-Borne IED)
Vehicle as attack weapon and pedestrian road ramming
Chemical attacks
Overview of ERT training
The training will be delivered over two days, culminating in live scenarios at the end of the training. These scenarios will feature extremely realistic causalities displaying cinematic wounds, such as amputations, bleeding and burns. The students will have to deal with each scenario and learn to effectively and efficiently manage them. Feedback will be given to all students and to clients once the learner has completed our program on our Learner Management System (LMS).
