Itโs Mental Health Awareness Week!
And weโve had a wonderful day today at Kitwood House we started our day with a pamper from Francine our Hair dresser, what better then having your hair done to make you feel better.
This afternoon we danced the afternoon away with Steve Bloor.
Music can have such a big impact on a personโs mental health in so many ways like
Stress Reduction: Listening to music, particularly calming music, can lower heart rate and reduce cortisol, the hormone associated with stress.
Mood Regulation: Music activates the brain's reward centers, releasing dopamine to enhance pleasure and happiness.
Anxiety and Depression Support: Research shows that regular music listening or therapy can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Expression and Processing: Music helps articulate
complex emotions that are difficult to put into words, assisting in emotional processing.
Resilience and Connection: Music fosters a sense of belonging and can strengthen social connections, reducing feelings of isolation.
We always love a song and dance at Kitwood House and have so many wonderful artists that share special moments and memories with us.
