We have certainly been feeling the love today at Kitwood House.

Our ‘Lovers Lane Diner’ was a massive hit with all our loved up couples. Throughout the day our lovely couples have joined us for a brunch/Afternoon tea in our reception area that the well being team had transformed into a diner with romantic tables for two complete with red roses, black and white photographs of the loved up couples and sweet valentines cards.

Our couples enjoyed delicious treats prepared and served by our well being lead Annette and co ordinator Katie, everyone shared stories and valentine advice whilst having hot tea from a china cup.

Whilst our Lovers enjoyed their tables for two the rest of our residents enjoyed their lunch sat at valentines dressed tables, our ladies and team members received red roses from our well being team and joined in by sharing the love for each other.

A big Happy Valentines Day from us all here at Kitwood House.

We have another busy week ahead at Kitwood House, with Music Therapy with Ian to kick start the week along with Sports Therapy with George. We’re celebrating Pancake Day with an afternoon in reception, followed by a delicious Chinese lunch mid week to celebrate Chinese New year. We have a lovely performance from Steve Bloor and it’s Love your Pet day on Friday so lots of Pet Therapy, and of course it’s time to Karaoke with Mel on Sunday to finish off the week.

There’s plenty of choice for everyone and everyone is always welcome to join in with any activity.

Today one of our gentlemen on Flying Scotsman celebrated his Birthday.

We celebrated with a beautiful cake, and our Well being team sang happy birthday to him.

We have had a wonderful afternoon with Eddy and Lucy.

Eddy has been singing for us for as long as we can remember. He is fabulous on the keyboard and we just love when he plays to us, along with his mum Lucy. They’re the perfect duo. As Eddy sings us through some golden oldies, Lucy has us dressing up, dancing, and boogying along.

Always a lovely, jolly afternoon with lots of smiles all round.

We’ve been sharing the love at Kitwood House and making our own Valentine’s chocolates.

We melted down milk, dark, and white chocolate and created chocolate hearts, buttons and a tray bake using heart themed sprinkles, Valentine’s sprinkles and marshmallows.

We had so much fun getting messy, and of course the best part was residents cleaning their bowl at the end.

What a wonderful Wednesday we have had with the beautiful Rebecca Done.

Rebecca started our Valentines celebrations and shared so much love with everyone here at Kitwood House today, she sang with us, she danced with us and she chatted with us and today was all about the love we have at Kitwood House.

We have now increased our Rise Sport Exercise Therapy sessions to weekly starting from now, so we should see lots more good progress with our residents.

Coach Tilly focused on hand eye co-ordination today, with our residents and they just love these sessions and all have lovely smiles on their faces.

National pizza day!!!

Celebrate national pizza day gave us the perfect opportunity to make our own pizzas. Residents enjoyed choosing their favourite toppings
and enjoyed putting them together.

Once we had finished Annette our Wellbeing Lead took them to the kitchen for Walter, our chef, to bake.
We all enjoyed eating them for afternoon snacks.

Yum yum 😋
