Hypnobirthing is a powerful course which merges knowledge and relaxation techniques, to optimise your labour and birth experience. It gives you the knowledge to understand what is happening, relaxation tools to help you cope and the confidence to take control of your labour and birth experience.
Negative or traumatic experiences including birth, miscarriage or breastfeeding experiences, can be improved through the support of the 3 step Rewind Process. This process teaches you techniques to take control of your experiences and how you feel about them, improving your standard of life.
Hypnobirthing is a fusion of medical knowledge and antenatal education, it has been recognised in this country since 1957. Although it was first heard of in 1913, when an obstetrician witnessed for the first time a woman giving birth without pain relief, she was using hypnobirthing! This woman had no fear of childbirth which enabled her to have a calm and positive birth. Since these times we have learnt we feel pain more during childbirth, when we are scared.
It has almost become accepted that childbirth is incredibly painful and something to be feared… probably due to the media, as the more dramatic a program is the more viewings it gets. As a midwife I have witnessed first-hand how fear increases pain and has a negative effect on birth. To enable a positive empowering birth experience, you need to alleviate your fear and learn to trust your body and baby.
As a midwife I have supported many women and their birth partners during labour and birth, both in hospital and at home. I can honestly say in my experience those using hypnobirthing regardless of the birth they have experienced, have had a calmer, more controlled and positive experience than those who haven’t.

How it works
The Amygdala and Hippocampus in your brain act like a filing system and store all your experiences/memories, attaching emotions to them. This is important in new situations, as your brain searches these files for guidance on how to act and feel.
When you experience a situation that you perceive as stressful or traumatic, your Amygdala acts like an alarm system, ceasing all other brain processing systems. This is vital for survival and known as the fight or flight response, which triggers extreme emotions. An over exaggerated and often uncomfortable emotion, is then attached to this memory in your brain.
Quite important in the past when faced with a bear or sabre-toothed tiger, not so much now! This is why you are left with unwanted and often extremely uncomfortable, emotions.
It's important to understand you are in control of the files in your brain and the emotions you have attached to them. Think about the last time someone made you feel sad.... often when you tell someone they made you feel that way, they are apologetic as it was not their intention. The truth is they did not make you feel sad, you chose to experience that sad emotion based on a file you accessed in your brain and an emotion you had previously attached to it.
This is how this course can help you, I will teach you how to change your unwanted emotions and empower you to heal yourself. You can then choose the emotions you would rather feel, when accessing memories or experiencing similar events in your future.
The course
I will teach you the course over 3 sessions which usually last between 60-90 minutes. The course can either take place in the comfort of your home, or over FaceTime/Skype.

The details
My passion is to improve experiences and outcomes for parents and parents to be. NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) advise against one off sessions for traumatic birth experiences, currently known as debriefing. Debriefing is currently the only available tool in NHS maternity units, for women who have experienced traumatic births.
The 3 Step Rewind course is a soothing but powerful process, neutralising negative emotions to enable a happier future. All clients to date, have experienced an incredible change of emotions improving their lives.
About Me
Hi my name is Danielle, I have 3 children and have successfully used hypnobirthing techniques during my own births, as well as supporting women to use them, so I know it actually works! I am utterly passionate about pregnancy, birth and the early days of parenthood. I currently work as an NHS midwife, hypnobirthing practitioner and birth trauma supporter. I have worked both for a private midwifery company and the NHS, which has given me a wealth of knowledge to help parents to be, experience the best possible pregnancy and birth journey. I have a first class honours degree in midwifery, a diploma in KG Hypnobirthing and I am a certified 3 Step Rewind Birth Trauma practitioner.
