**St Patrick’s Day Celebrations at Daneside Court 🍀🎶**

On Tuesday 17th March, we celebrated St Patrick’s Day in style – and what a fantastic day it was!

We dressed up for the occasion and were joined by Vicky from Musical Moments, who kept our residents entertained with singing, music and plenty of fun. There was lots of laughter as we got a little silly with props and played along with musical instruments.

To top it all off, everyone enjoyed delicious Baileys Cream Cheesecake and Mint Aero Cheesecake, alongside a lovely cup of tea – the perfect ending to a wonderful day.

St Patrick’s Day Prep at Daneside Court 🍀

On Monday 16th March, we got into the spirit ahead of St Patrick’s Day with a feast fit for the occasion!

Our residents got hands-on making their own Baileys Irish Cream and Mint Aero chocolate cheesecakes. Everyone had their own little pots and enjoyed getting creative mixing everything together – although a few couldn’t resist sneaking a taste along the way…

It was a lively, slightly messy afternoon filled with laughter, fun and plenty of sweet treats. Sharon also made a couple of cheesecakes for the whole home to enjoy, making sure no one missed out.

Easter Crafts at Daneside Mews 🐣🌸

We had great fun today creating our Easter displays, and what a lovely afternoon it was!

Our residents really enjoyed getting creative, and it was wonderful to see families admiring the finished displays. We’ve had so many kind comments about how beautiful they look.

Ukulele Afternoon 🎶

On Thursday 12th March, we were delighted to welcome the Lostock Ukuleles to perform for our residents here at Daneside Court.

It was a wonderful afternoon of music and singing, and they were so popular we almost ran out of room!

The group played a fantastic mix of old favourites and more modern songs, creating a lovely atmosphere that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

A massive thank you to the Lostock Ukuleles for giving their time and bringing such joy to our residents. We hope to see them again soon! 🎵

Keith’s Birthday Celebration 🎂

We had a lovely time at Daneside Court celebrating Keith’s birthday on Wednesday 11th March. What better way to mark the occasion than with friends, a delicious slice of birthday cake, and a nice cup of tea.

It was wonderful to spend time together, sharing smiles and celebrating Keith’s special day. Happy Birthday, Keith! 🎉🎂

Exercise Monday at Daneside Court 💪🐙

Monday morning started bright and early with a fun exercise session to get everyone moving. On the agenda were Mr Octopus, singing, plenty of laughter and lots of energy!

We began with a warm-up before using soft batons to create some fun rhythms down the corridor. Poor Mr Octopus got quite the stretch during the session, and the pom-poms even made an appearance for some sensory activities and poses.

It was a beautiful morning, and there’s nothing better than a room full of residents letting their fun side shine. There was even a little friendly competition with Mr Octopus – all in good spirits and full of laughter. What a wonderful way to start the week! 😊

🧧🥢 Chinese New Year Celebrations at Daneside Court 🥢🧧

We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating Chinese New Year recently here at Daneside Court!

Residents were treated to a delicious Chinese lunch, enjoying favourites such as chow mein, sweet and sour with rice, and a fantastic buffet selection including sesame toast, spare ribs, spring rolls, prawn crackers and more. It was a real feast for everyone to enjoy!

One family member shared some lovely feedback, saying: “My mother fully enjoyed her Chinese – oh yes!” 🧡

A big thank you to our amazing kitchen team for preparing such a special lunch with all the extra treats.

As part of the celebrations, we were also very lucky to welcome the Manchester Hong Kong Lion Team to the home for a traditional Lion Dance blessing ceremony. It was an incredible performance and a completely new experience for many of our residents.

Sharon, our Wellbeing Coordinator, also organised Chinese-themed arts and crafts with residents, showcasing their creativity with beautiful decorations displayed around the home. And of course, we couldn’t forget John’s famous Fandango dance, which brought plenty of laughter to the celebrations! 💃

🎨 Crafty Tuesday at Daneside Court! 🎨

Our residents enjoyed a creative afternoon on Tuesday 3rd March, getting stuck into a decoupage craft session. Using paper cut-outs printed by Sharon, residents carefully glued and layered the designs onto upcycled fans, sealing them with layers of glue to create beautiful decorative prints with a painted-on look.

There was lots of delicate cutting, a bit of mess with the glue, and plenty of concentration — but the results were well worth the effort! Residents were amazed at the stunning fans they had created.

Dorothy quickly mastered the technique and made it look easy, proudly pointing to her finished fan with the biggest smile and saying, “Look at that!” Before long, she was helping fellow residents with their designs.

Meanwhile, John brought even more laughter to the afternoon when he got a little overexcited and treated everyone to a spontaneous Fandango dance, much to the amusement of the group! 💃

We’re lucky to have such a wonderful group of residents who are always willing to try something new. We support each other, laugh together and celebrate what we can achieve as a team — simply the best that we can be. 🧡
