On Monday Daneside Court residents were invited to the The Clock Tower Northwich Pub, for dinner.

It was £10 all in, meal, hot drinks, cake, and an entertainer. We had a fabulous afternoon; we were up dancing, even Win (pretty in pink) in her wheelchair! We could order our own drinks at the bar, much to the enjoyment of Keith and his wife Joyce, who were enjoying a glass of white and red! There was no stopping with Keith! Pat, dressed in black danced and danced, met old friends; happy reunions.

We aced the afternoon, a great time had by all! 🙂

And welcome to Daneside Court, Macmillan Cancer support Coffee afternoon!

We had such a fabulous afternoon last Friday, it was a full-on event. Everyone loved the homemade Baileys cheesecake; it was sold out asap!

What a wonderful afternoon and a wonderful turnout, we had an overflow of families who had to sit in the corridor. We felt honoured by the support, and we sang to the music, it was truly magical in every single way! Loved it! 🍰🙂

Last Thursday morning at Daneside Court we made homemade Baileys cheesecake – yummy, yummy – in our tummies!

This was in preparation for our Macmillan Cancer Support coffee afternoon.

We had a couple of residents smashing up the biscuits with a rolling pin. Then a family member wanted to mix the cream cheese and cream whilst Sharon melted the butter; however, the family member was a bit sneaky and put the Baileys in whilst Sharon wasn't watching and had all the residents in uproar!

We had so much fun! And we can report the cheesecake turned out spectacular and sold out at our Macmillan's coffee afternoon 😍

Last Wednesday was National Day of Arts in Care Homes. 🙂

On the Monday previously, Daneside Court residents had been preparing some sensory autumn crafts. We had a fantastic time getting together in the afternoon to create a night scape theme, of flowers and dragonflies made by chalk rubbing.

Impressed with our art work, on the National Day of Arts in Care Homes, we added extra glitter and sparkles onto the flowers and dragonflies to create the moonlight reflecting upon them!

This night scape theme became the residents' family garden abstract piece of artwork, inviting the eye to look upon the moonlight and how it reflects upon the beauty of our wonderful environment!

There is a curtain of bats flying in the night sky, barely visible in the moonlight. We had wonderful experiences working together in our groups, creating wonderful memories, and we hope our abstract piece of artwork reflects this!

Yesterday afternoon we got together to do a bit of apple bobbing where residents try to grab apples with only their mouths from a tub of water.

We had been reflecting back to our childhood days when these games were themed and our childhood memories. It was also a sign to get harvest ready or preparing for winter.

But we had an amazing afternoon! Everyone had a go, also some cheating taking place, and we tucked into a healthy fresh fruit salad later on. 🍎

We agreed on a design, and now we are putting together a few items of old clothing and gathering to make it.

Sensory autumn craft yesterday at Daneside Court: using colourful chalk we coloured around autumn shapes, against a black background!

Some pieces looked very impressive and were produced very delicately and with precision.

This activity reaches out to everyone, by feel, touch, texture, getting messy; it doesn't matter! An excellent morning here at Daneside Court, and a good start to our week! 🙂

On Friday afternoon at Daneside Court, we were thrilled to have the lovely Dave and Sara entertain our residents with exercise!

As it was International Sports Week, what better way to get fit and have fun! Everyone had a blast!

What a great guy Dave is! He reaches out to all of our residents, and it's such a joy to watch him interact—what a pleasure to see! 🙂

Thursday was National Fitness Day, and at Daneside Court we had an amazing time together to have a bit of fun and compete against each other, all of us!

First, we let the carers show how it should be done; wait till you see the videos in the comments! 🙂. We are sure there was a little bit of cheating going on!

The residents absolutely rocked it with their challenge, and well behaved hah😂aha, we had so much fun and laughter! What a fantastic day! Great teamwork by all of us!

We awarded everyone with medals and a cup of tea and cake to help celebrate. 😍

International Fitness Day is fast approaching on September 24th. We made an early start by having Tracey King visit us from the Brio Northwich leisure centre.

At Daneside Court we encourage our residents of all ages and abilities to get active and a chance to socialise with each other.
