Breathing Space Yoga Welcome to my yoga classes for adults, pregnancy and postnatal, baby yoga and baby massage in Northwich. Friendly, calming classes. Suitable from 14 weeks.

No previous yoga experience necessary. Adult Yoga: Hatha Yoga classes focusing on wonderful alignment principles to help a safe practice and heart opening to empower and uplift. I aim for classes to be supportive of each student as an individual, a balance of energising and relaxing through yoga poses, breath and meditation techniques and above all fun! Meditation, Yoga Nidra and rest:
I teach meditation and yoga nidra relaxations throughout all my classes. I also teach meditation courses and monthly classes for deep rest focussing on restorative yoga, meditation and yoga nidra. Mum and Baby Yoga: Enjoy uninterrupted time with your baby and learn simple movements based on the principles and postures of yoga which will help you and your baby to communicate, bond and best of all relax. Baby yoga is great for building confidence in handling your baby, supporting your baby's natural physical development and helping digestion and sleep issues. Gentle movements will help with postnatal recovery for Mums, and all carers and babies will benefit from a shared experience of relaxation. Classes will provide techniques you can continue to use throughout your baby's development. Above all classes are a place for you and your baby to meet other new parents and I give plenty of time to chat at the start and end of class. Suitable from 6 weeks postnatal. Pregnancy Yoga: My pregnancy yoga classes enable mums to be to take some time out each week to focus on themselves and also connect with their babywearing/ies. Classes are a place to come to relax, unwind, meet other pregnant ladies and to learn how to use yoga both to bring space, stability and confidence in your body and also your mind, in preparation for positive experience of labour, birth and motherhood. I offer plenty of hints, tips and other useful links throughout class and my aim is for everyone to have a positive experience no matter what kind of birth birth journey they take. About Me:

Hi I'm Sarah. I have been practising yoga since 2001 and am a mum to two small boys. I have been teaching since 2013. I took my 200 hour yoga alliance training with Bridget Woods Kramer. I am qualified with Birthlight as a pregnancy, postnatal and baby yoga teacher and I qualified with To Baby and Beyond to teach Baby Massage. I trained to teach meditation with Beanddo, yoga nidra with Yoga Nidra Network and restorative yoga with Adelene Cheong. I have taken many other trainings and workshops and continue to do so as I love to learn new things and pass them on to my students. Classes:

❄️ Happy Winter Solstice ❄️

Winter Solstice marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year.

Solstice comes from the Latin Sol meaning sun, and Sistere meaning to stand still. It marks the moment the sun ‘stands still’, pauses for a moment at its lowest, before turning back to lengthening the days again. The moment between what is ending and what is beginning.

In this blog post I explore some of the history of Winter Solstice celebrations. I reflect on the qualities of Winter and how we can embrace the darker and quieter energies of Winter and set some intentions for the coming months.

There’s a lovely poem by James A Pearson and some Winter Solstice journal prompts for you including a pdf download so that you can take a pause and mark this turning point in the year..

Thank you to everyone who came to our Festive Yoga for Deep Rest at Lach Dennis last night.

We rested, we enjoyed the gorgeous decorations in the hall, had mince pies and teas.

One of the things I ensure in my Pregnancy Yoga classes is that you have time to chat with the other mums-to-be, share experiences and find your community. I have a whatsapp group that you can join to stay connected, and I am part of who host free monthly socials that we join. Often ladies organise catch ups outside of class or meet up again postnatally in my mum and baby yoga and baby massage classes once babies have arrived.

If you are someone who doesn't already have friends or family with little ones nearby you will find connection and support.

And of course you will enjoy all the benefits of gentle movement to support your pregnancy, active birth skills and empowering breathwork to help you through your labour and birth positively, and mindfulness and relaxation to hone skills to support you however you choose to birth.

Our Christmas Yoga Classes in Northwich this year are raising funds for

Here's some of the key projects that we'll be helping:

🐜Protecting Cheshire’s last wildlife refuges:
Nature reserves are some of the last refuges where wild plants, mammals, birds and insects are given the space they need to survive. The 34 nature reserves cared for by Cheshire Wildlife Trust are some of the best wildlife havens remaining across the region. Our nature reserves are homes for water voles, breeding grounds for lapwings and overwintering shelter for bitterns.

🦫Bring Beavers Back to Cheshire:
Ongoing funding to support this five-year 'nature-led' project. A pair of beavers were released into a 10 acre enclosure in November 2020, to save and restore the wetland ecosystem at Hatchmere Nature Reserve.

🌸Bring Wildlife Back to Cheshire's Peak District:
Behind the stunning scenery is another story. Wildlife here is in crisis.
Homes for wading birds like curlew have been lost. Wildflower meadows have been lost. Wildlife in our rivers has been lost. Native woodland and hedgerows have been lost. Towns and villages are at increased risk of flooding.

🌳Saltersford Farm Appeal
We’re just at the beginning of many years of work to bring wildlife back to this intensively- farmed landscape. We want to create wildflower meadows, plant trees and create wetland areas here. However it will take time and money.

Pregnancy Yoga is a gentle mix of breathwork, movement and connecting to yourself and your baby. We spend time sharing experience and I share ways to help your pregnancy and birth be positive and empowering, so that you feel confident in navigating your unique journey.

Classes are a place to come to relax, unwind, and meet other pregnant ladies, they include:

💚 Time to chat and share experience with other mums to be
💚 movement to support your pregnancy – listening to your own body you work in the way that suits you best – adaptations are always given and pelvic pain is always accommodated safely
💚positive and active birthing information and techniques
💚relaxation and breathing techniques.
💚access to 6 pre-recorded on-demand Pregnancy Yoga classes, several mini info videos on various areas of pregnancy and birth, a PDF toolkit with links and resources.

Classes are booked in blocks and work out at £11 per class. Join any time, subject to spaces available – you’ll pay for the rest of the term from the date you join. - (Pay as You go from 36 weeks). Single classes & Tasters available if space allows

No previous yoga experience needed. The class is suitable from 12 weeks right up to birth.

I'd love to welcome you to my Mum & Baby Yoga classes. If you are looking for a class that nourishes yourself and your baby, helps you to meet other new parents and has a clean, warm and friendly environment why not come and join us?

You’ll learn
💚 gentle postnatal recovery through breathwork, pelvic floor and abdominal support
💚safe yoga movement specific to the postnatal period - suitable after all births – rebalancing and stabilising techniques to help the early weeks of postnatal recovery, progressing to gentle postnatal yoga movement ready to continue into regular yoga or fitness classes.
💚some gentle fun baby yoga movements for your baby which support your baby’s development - including techniques to support sleep and digestion issues.
💚to support yourself and baby through relaxation and mindfulness

Classes include time to chat, I love to facilitate parents sharing experience, supporting each other and laughing together and as a team member of I will help to signpost you to services and support you might need for your individual postnatal journey.
