It was lovely to see the Wednesday Afternoon Scrabble Club back in action today. There were some tricky words being put down and we needed a bit of help from the online Scrabble dictionary at times!

This morning several of our residents went to our local Methodist church for their coffee morning. It was wonderful to see Shelia, Colin and Barbara joining in with our local community.
Colin and Roger quickly found they shared an interest in woodworking. Over tea and cake they shared their past projects and possible future ones too! Barbara enjoyed being out and getting lots of attention and Shelia is already a well respected member of the Methodist community.

We had a fantastic afternoon today when Mrs Little and her daughters Rebecca and Helena came to join us. Mrs Little ran her school uniform and dance clothes shop in Northwich for 56 years. Many of our residents and their families remember going in for those essential bits of uniform.
Her daughters are both very talented in the world of musical theatre and run their own company called Pixie Productions. They sang some fabulous songs which we all joined in with!

It's been a busy week and it was nice to change the pace this afternoon. Some of our ladies tried some autumn craft while Colin got the Lego out. We were soon talking about how we'd all used Lego as children and the objects we used to create. Colin is hoping for a trip to a Lego shop later in the year when his brother visits 😊

We had a wonderful afternoon supporting Macmillan yesterday. Thank you to all the families, friends and of course our residents! The kitchen team baked some stunning cakes, which were soon eaten. There was plenty of laughter and chatting and a visit from Gillian Edwards our independent councillor.
We raised just over £200 for the charity as well 😊

Despite the appalling weather on Saturday, some of our residents were happy to support our local churches with their craft extravaganza. Both the Methodist church and St Johns joined together for a day of craft themed 'Joy to the World'.
Residents could either take their work home or leave it for the display in December. It was lovely to see our residents taking part and having such pride in their local community.

We had a wonderful afternoon yesterday when we welcomed Jim Stanley to Redwalls. Jim is a local Northwich chap who is an ex-teacher, artist, writer, Radio Northwich presenter and all round good guy.
He entertained our residents with songs he'd written about Northwich, poems, some stories and a lot of local knowledge. Many of our residents joined in and shared their own memories too. It was so lovely to see the lounge full of smiles and laughter 😊
