Lucy Williamson Nutrition

Lucy Williamson Nutrition Life thrives on REAL nutrients from WHOLE food. The story of nutrition begins here! This is sustainable health from REAL, functional food!

My journey from Vet to Nutritionist is my inspiration behind reconnecting our health right back to its roots: our food, farming, and the vital importance of our Gut Flora: our Microbiome. Healthy soils, crops and animals, our own health and nature, thriving together.

📖 Soil to Gut: Spring is a reminder that resilience is built from the ground up.

Inside our bodies, our gut microbes, our “wild inside”, quietly support digestion, immunity and inflammation, helping our health stay balanced. ⚖️

Something very similar is happening beneath our feet. 👣

In healthy soils, especially those managed with regenerative farming practices, thriving microbial communities help plants grow stronger and more resilient.

Just as nature-friendly farming enriches life in the soil, nurturing our gut microbiome strengthens our own internal ecosystem.

Conditions such as IBS, affecting around 10–15% of women, are often linked to gut sensitivity and inflammation, reminding us how important it is to support a healthy gut microbiome. 🦠

Resilience begins in the soil.

📖Before writing my new book Soil to Gut, my journey began in a very different place…

I spent 15 years working as a farm and small animal Vet, drawn to life on farms and staying closely connected to nature.

Over time, I became increasingly curious about the role of food in health. In both animals and people, I saw how often digestive and skin issues improved simply through changes in diet.

As a mother, that curiosity deepened. I wanted to understand the science behind food, not the endless stream of confusing nutrition headlines.

So I took a leap and completed a Masters in Nutrition at King’s College London.
What surprised me most was discovering the gut microbiome, and how closely its role mirrors the microbial life in the soil beneath our feet.

That realisation brought everything full circle.

The health of soil, food and our bodies is deeply connected.

And it’s the story at the heart of Soil to Gut.

📖 Soil to Gut: Did you know, for every £1 we spend on food in the UK, £2.64 is spent on diet-related hidden health costs.

Our food system is costing us far more than we realise, for our health and for our planet.

But there is a better way to feed ourselves, and it’s already happening.

Last year we hosted a Food Conversation with the Food, Farming and Countryside Commission at Woodoaks Farm and it showed me how much people want to understand the soil-to-gut story.

Farmers working with nature are producing food from healthy soils that supports biodiversity, restores ecosystems and nourishes our gut microbiome.

This is why I wrote my new book 🌿 Soil to Gut, published by . Sign up to get a free recipe from the book and be the first to know when it’s available. Link in bio.

Spring is the season of renewal 🌱
And the perfect time to support your body’s natural detox.

Your body already knows how to cleanse and restore. Your liver, kidneys, lungs and skin are working for you every day. They don’t need extreme fixes; they just need nourishment.

That starts with food.

Nutrient-dense, well-grown food gives your body the building blocks it needs to function at its best. When we eat in a way that works with our biology, energy steadies and resilience grows.

And here’s the hopeful part: more and more farmers are now growing food in regenerative, nature-friendly ways, restoring the soil while producing deeply nourishing food for us!.

Good for our gut
Good for our bodies.
Good for the land.

This Spring, instead of forcing detox, support it.
Root your health in real food from soil to gut 🌿

Top tip 💡Did you know the fibre from potatoes is even better for our gut health when cold as leftovers than when still hot?! 👌🤎

Enjoying them with super-tasty and natural lemony mayo too😋🌿
