💚💚💚 Broadland First Aid 💚💚💚
is a not for profit organisation. We attend local events where we charge a very competitive fee for First Aid cover, our First Aiders volunteer and supporters give their time voluntary.

Because of their generosity after taking out running costs for equipment and travel, we are able to pass on profits to the local Community First Responder Groups (from where some of our volunteers spend most of this time).

As we approach the end of Volunteers Week we give a massive shout out to all of our volunteers and supporters , George, Jan, Clive, Felicity, Mario, Caitlin, Olly, Chris, Krsten, Sherry, Karen, Michelle, Sam, Elaine, Jamie, Shaun, Wyatt, Violet, Lexi, Alex, Lizzie and Sharna. With out you we would be unable to make the donations to these life-savers in our local communities! THANK YOU 💚💚💚

Absolutely Awesome - Well done ladies 👏👏👏

👏👏HUGE CONGRATULATIONS👏👏 to Kirsten and Michelle who have both qualified as CFR’s. They are now ready to begin responding to life threatening emergencies in North Walsham and the surrounding villages. 🚑🚑🚑

We are expanding our Notth Walsham team to give greater cover - please visit the EEAST Website for more details about how to join.

We also fundraise for all our kit, each CFR Kit costs around £2,500. If you would like to support our fundraising or think you could become part of the team as a group fundraiser we’d love to hear from you. Please email northwalshamcfr@gmail.com or PM us on FB.

💚We are really grateful to our local community💚

We raise funds for, and with support from local East of England Ambulance First Responders.

This month we had the annual plant sale at Walcott Village Hall which raised over £600 and both Bacton Bingo and Stalham Town Council have also made substantial donations. Today we were in Stalham with a stall at the Fringe Event and raised another £43 all proceeds going to Broadland First Responders.

We really need more volunteers to help raise much needed funds, please consider joining us, learn a new skill by becoming a First Aider and by volunteering your time to cover local events with us, it's very rewarding.

The BFA Team are looking to expand our volunteer First Aiders. We offer free Emergency First Aid Qualification and the chance to attend training with the EEAST Broadland and North Walsham CFR Groups.

We attend local events covering their First Aid requirements. The money we raise is passed on to local Community First Responder Groups, this is used to purchase the vital equipment they use to respond to 999 emergencies in the local areas. 🚑🚑

If you’d like to help raise funds for an amazing cause whilst helping others, working as a team, send us a PM with your contact details. No previous experience necessary.

For the Fallen
BY LAURENCE BINYON

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.

Almost a year ago Karen (a CFR) and Olly (a special contstable) were raising money for Community First Responders by volunteering as First Aiders for us at Worstead Festival 2022.
On the Friday evening they were covering the 5k run and identified a man with chest pain, consequently they were first on scene when the patient, Dennis, went into cardiac arrest.
They instantly jumped Into action and were shortly supported by 2 East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust crews, 2 Community first responders and East Anglian Air Ambulance Charity . Dennis was transferred by helicopter conscious and breathing.

Last night Friday 9th June karen and Olly, again volunteering their time for us bumped into to their patient at the EPIC Aylsham 5K. It was an emotional reunion for them both to see their patient running the 5k, looking amazing and living his life to the full💚

Well done Karen and Olly, without your dedication to your community as volunteers we would be much the poorer!
