Why should you take care of your body?
Just like a mechanical vehicle, you body is made up of many parts that require special attention to avoid “rust” that may make it less reliable. Nutrients, rest and exercise are three main components that contribute to a healthy body! What you put in your body, what you don’t put in your body, and the way you do things can contribute to the quality of soft tissue structures and hard tissues in your body.
Blood is made up of 90% water! Blood plays a key role in delivering nutrients to damaged muscle tissue, increasing elasticity! This in result increases the range of movement! Not drinking the recommended water intake per day, (3 litres for men and 2.5 litres for women) will contribute to high tonicity in your muscles. If you don’t enjoy drinking water, try flavoured water, teas, juice drinks just to name a few options.
Sleep/ resting can often be overlooked in the process of recovery but it plays a vital role. If you want to get better, you need to allow your body time to heal. As you fall into a deep sleep, an increase of blood flows to the muscles supplying nutrients to help recover and repair muscles and cell regeneration.
As a sports massage therapist, it is my role to evaluate and compose a treatment plan according to YOUR needs! Sports massages are a just one tool to help rehabilitate, aid muscle tightness and improve pain free movements by using specialist techniques that I am trained to do. My focus as a sports massage therapist is not to cause lots of pain, especially if you do not want deep techniques. As a sports massage therapist I am trained to adapt to the needs of each client. Unfortunately, massage may not be appropriate for everybody due to contraindications in the body! If you are unsure if you are eligible for a massage, feel free to send me a massage and we can have a chat! Alternatively, you can do some research as I know it is hard to book an appointments at clinics currently!
Look forward to hearing from you all!
