ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Nicki and I have been practising yoga for over 10years all over the world and have followed Hatha, Vinyasa flow and somatic movement styles of yoga. I have over 350 hours learning and training, including qualifying with the British Wheel of Yoga with a 300-hour BWYQ Level 4 Certificate in Teaching Yoga. And recently qualified as a Menopause yoga teacher specialist, studying 40 hou
rs with Petra Coveney. In addition, I am a professional ILM Level 5 qualified coaching practitioner. I have been influenced by many teachers including Elaine Fletcher, Kari Knights, Marie Williams and Petra Coveney, and my practice has evolved. My approach to teaching yoga is encouraging and inclusive of all abilities. EXPERIENCE AND CLASSES
Over the past 5 years yoga has been an invaluable tool in maintaining my sense of wellbeing as I have navigated through personal challenges. The emotional, mental and physical benefits of yoga have provided me with deep rooted foundations, to celebrate the woman I am today and the woman I will be tomorrow. Through my yoga teaching, I aim to connect women in their 40s and 50s who have been through similar experiences, to celebrate their bodies and minds and to embrace the future. I will be teaching a variety of group yoga classes in Norwich, Norfolk community settings, hubs, workplaces and online. My emphasis will be connecting you with your body and mind through mindful explorative movement and flows, incorporating breath work, mindfulness and noticing sensations throughout. Specialised menopause classes will focus on adapted yoga practice with breathing techniques and mindful meditation exercises to help manage the main peri-menopause, menopause and post-menopause symptoms. My classes will aim to promote a settled mind and sense of balanced wellbeing to return to our busy lives, and a safe space for women to connect through shared experiences. The name 'Hemisphere' has a two-fold meaning, and seemed a perfect way to brand my business. Firstly, our brain is split into two hemisphere's the left and right, each hemisphere has sensory and motor control of the opposite side of the body - sometimes one side of our brain is more dominant than the other - through regular yoga practice we can encourage balance. Secondly, I have a profound love of travel, experiencing different cultures in the northern or southern hemisphere, which have profoundly influenced my way of life, and are present in my practice of yoga.
