PGR Showcase, University of East Anglia Did you know that UEA has over 1000 research students carrying out new and innovative research across a diverse range of subjects?

This research, leading to a PhD, is undertaken by students after a Bachelors or Masters degree and traditionally involves three years of research on a specific topic. On June 22, 2011 UEA PhD students will take over the Forum - the landmark Millennium Building for the East of England in Norwich - to put on a display of over 30 large posters exhibiting their research. PhD students carry out researc

h at the forefront of their disciplines. In previous years topics have included climate change, ecology, health care research, art history, crop science, and international development. The Showcase provides students with the opportunity to present their research ideas to both members of the public and employers. So why not come along and see what UEA PhD students have been studying? The event is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Visitors will have the opportunity to wander around the exhibition and meet the students who will be on standby to explain their research and answer any questions. During the day there will also be a number of events including presentations by individual students and two science cafés (Café Scientifique). The day will finish with an civic reception for employers hosted by the Vice Chancellor Professor Edward Acton. To find out more about opening times and how to get there have a look at the visitor’s page. If you are an employer who would like to attend the Civic Reception please see the employers section.
