In the energy of the Full Moon this morning, we met for SabbatSong, celebrating Lammas/Lughnasadh, acknowledging the abundance in our lives, all that we are grateful for.
This transistionary time marks the waning of Summer and the first stirrings of Autumn - the transformation of the Mother archetype into the Wild Woman (known as the Enchantress.) We acknowledged the sadness that this time can bring as the light declines and darkness increases; the fear and uncertainty that can arise with the Wild Woman energy, who often manifests as rage and irritation or a harsh inner critic when unbalanced. In fact, the Wild Woman energies are a helpful ally when we can befriend and understand them. The rage surfaces when we are not true to ourselves, when we act small or hide our light, when we betray ourselves by our words or actions. It is the courage and the confidence of the Summer that we need here, to carry what we have learned over to our Autumnal Wild Woman and to use our voices and discernment to bring our truth into action in the world. We don't have to be loud and brash and out of control to connect with and inhabit our Wild Woman energies; Wild means natural, uncaged, undomesticated. It is our true nature.
At the recent Wild Woman Ceremony (called Honour your Wild Heart) at Harlequin Fayre, held by Kerry Dolan Alison Mary and myself Kerry Kwiatkowska - Holistic Therapies we invited the women present to reflect on the following questions:
'How do you keep yourself confined and small?'
'What action can you take to step out of your comfort zone to inhabit your Wild?'
I invite you to reflect on these questions - please feel free to share below x
