As mentioned yesterday, I have scheduled a series of posts, to discuss all the treatments I offer at Sensitive Soles Therapies... starting with one of my favourites, Baby Bowen...
Bowen Therapy for babies or infants up to the age of approximately 3, is a very gentle, non-invasive technique, that helps relax a baby’s body and support digestion, sleep and comfort, as well as encouraging it’s natural healing and development.
The system uses light rolling movements, over specific muscles and soft tissue – there is no force, cracking or stretching and the babies will stay dressed during the session (light clothes preferable).
HOW MIGHT IT HELP BABIES?
- Release tension from birthing (incl. long or difficult deliveries)
- Digestive issues - eg: colic, reflux, wind, constipation, feeding etc
- Support with sleep for unsettled or distressed baby or infant
- Help with easing neck tension or head turning issues
- Encourage improved overall comfort and movement
WHAT DOES A SESSION LOOK LIKE?
- Very gentle touch – often using finger tips
- Pauses between movements, allowing baby’s body to respond
- Sessions are usually brief and adapted to the baby’s mood
- Parents can hold or comfort the baby at any time
Help little bodies feel more at ease, with this natural, gentle system – get in touch, if you feel this system will help your little one 🙏
For those that are new to my page, welcome and for those that have followed me for some time - thank you for your continued support.
Here is a list of current treatments offered at Sensitive Soles Therapies - I do mix some of them up and/or tailor to people's preferences (not including Bowen).
I have scheduled a series of posts, discussing each of the treatments I offer - if you have any queries about specific therapies and how they may help you or a loved one, please feel free to ask, either against posts on this page or communicating with me directly (details below).
Just looking at the next couple of weeks in the clinic and I currently have a few spaces available - do get in touch, if you would like to book an appointment and as I always advise, things can and do change, so if you would like to book an appointment, even if your preferred time looks taken, I may be able to help or find another time slot to suit.

I look forward to seeing you in clinic soon 🤗 Have a good week.
After a slow first week of January, due to the white weather bomb, spaces have fast been filling up again for the remainder of this month, with both existing and new clients 🤗
it is lovely to get back to a bit of normal 👍
Looking at February, which is often the month where everything catches up with us, after the rush of the new year, I do currently have some spaces, so if you would like a chance to rest & reset and give yourself some time just for you 🤍
Message me if you would like to book an appointment or discuss appropriate treatments... maybe get in early with a little Valentine gift for your loved one 💙🩷
How has the white stuff impacted you this week? Or does it not even show up on your radar?
I personally dont enjoy driving when it is or has been snowing and always give my clients the option to postpone... 9/10 people take me up on the offer and that is fine by me 😁
Looking like we may see the back of it fairly soon🤞no doubt followed by another "weather bomb".
The photo attached was built by our neighbours - starting to melt now - did you create any snow art? feel free to share.

🙏 12 DAYS OF XMAS - SELF CARE IDEAS 🙏
Day 12 - SLEEP
My final 12 days of xmas self care ideas post... I hope you have found these ideas a useful reminder, that there are many affordable ways to ensure that you make You a priority...
I believe my sleep topic to be the most important self care item, which many of us need to focus more on, as poor quality sleep increases the risk of many diseases and disorders.
Consistently good sleep is essential to ensure your body is working to support healthy brain function and maintain physical health.
Adequate sleep duration varies by age, adults generally require at least 7 hours per night, to enable them to function well during the day. Insufficient sleep can result in poor focus, reduced cognition, delayed reactions and mood swings.
If you have trouble with your sleep patterns, try to start a new bed time routine. Remove all blue lights from the bedroom (phones, tv standby light etc) and refrain from using your mobile or computers at least 1 hour prior to going to bed…
that includes not using your phone for the wake-up alarm in the morning🤓
Regular exercise and healthy eating can also help towards ensuring you consistently get a good night’s sleep, as well as regular complementary therapy treatments, which can help you relax the mind and body.
Good quality sleep isn't a luxury, it is essential for improved wellbeing...
your body does it's best healing while you are asleep 😴
Getting together with friends and family, in person, is really important – BUT, I really encourage you to turn your phone off and be present and enjoy the company, fully... I feel that we need to do more of this, as a society.
Just having a chat with people that we enjoy being with, can help to increase a sense of belonging and purpose, as well as boost the feeling of happiness and reduce stress levels and improve your self-confidence and self-worth.
I love nothing more than catching up with people, sharing happy memories and stories and having a good laugh… there are studies discussing health benefits of laughing and my favourite theory is that because Endorphins are the body’s natural painkillers, when laughing, you can release these happy hormones, which may help to ease chronic pain and make you feel good all over.
I am not big on new year's resolutions, as a rule... but this is a great one, for all of us, to make more time to have more in-person meet ups with friends and family.
When friends or family ask what you would like as a present, for Birthdays / Mother's or Father's Day / Valentine’s Day / Anniversaries / Easter (& Christmas) etc., you could ask for a gift voucher for your favourite complementary therapy or treatment... or activity.
Drop the hint... self care is a gift worth receiving 🙏
Go for a walk… that could be solo or with other people – it’s a free and gentle way of exercising, and walking helps maintain a healthy weight and lose body fat, as well as prevent or manage various medical conditions.
Taking some time to walk, just for the sake of walking, and without thinking too much about where you're going, can be an act of self-care... even a short burst of 10 minutes of brisk walking increases our mental alertness, energy and positive mood.
If walking alone, make sure you are safe – let someone know where you are going… I know I encourage people to turn off devices, but on these occasions, it’s a good idea to take a phone with you, just in case you get into difficulty and need to contact someone... and if you listen to music, please make sure you can hear traffic or what is going on around you... and if you have medical issues and not sure if you should, please speak to a professional (PT or doctor).
Other than all my caveats... no pressure, just step outside and start walking :-)
When was the last time you turned the TV off or put the electronic device down and read a book?
Research suggests that reading is good for you, as it improves your focus, memory, empathy and communication skills… reading is better with books, as electronic devices emit blue light, which can contribute to digital eye strain, which may interfere with sleep patterns.
Reading books can reduce stress, improve your mental health and allows you to learn new things to help you succeed in your work and relationships, as well as it generally being considered better for your eye health.
My partner bought me 2x books by Miriam Margolyes for Christmas, which I am looking forward to reading... tonight, I am logging off to read some chapters, who else is trading the scroll for a story tonight?

My name is Natalie Maskell, I am a fully qualified, fully insured and DBS checked Complementary Therapist. I currently have a treatment room at The Osteopathic Consultancy (St Augustines Street, Norwich, NR3), where you will find a warm, friendly welcome and a safe and relaxing environment and your sessions with me will always be treated with complete confidentiality and privacy.
Originally from an IT Business & Corporate background, I had for a long time enjoyed receiving complementary therapies, to help with the stressful life style I had been leading – my preferred treatment was Reflexology, as I felt so calm and de-stressed for a significant time post treatment – I was able to sleep better and therefore cope with the pressures I dealt with daily.
It had always been in the back of my mind, that one day further in the future, I would re-train in something totally different to the Corporate world, to have a more balanced lifestyle, something to phase me into retirement (or semi-retirement) and I knew it would be Reflexology, because it interested me so much.
In September 2012, I found a Level 3 Diploma course was running near to me in Norwich, so I enquired and before I knew it, I was on the course and doing business projects, researching the history of Reflexology and completing case studies and practice treatments and realising that my dream was going to happen sooner than I thought.
Once I qualified, I established my business in September 2013, initially offering solely Reflexology. To maintain professional membership with the organisations that I belong to, it is a requirement to do a specified amount of annual CPD (Continual Professional Development), which I always look forward to, as I love learning new modalities and it means that I can now also offer my clients the following treatments:
o Reflexology – Traditional / Maternity / AromaFlex / Hot Stones
o Bowen Technique (Adult and Baby/Children)
o MSTR ™Scar Tissue Release
o Indian Head Massage (Champissage)
o Indian Foot Massage (Kansa Vatki)
I feel very passionate about what I do, so when I was asked I jumped at the chance to become a Teaching Assistant on the Reflexology Diploma course, where I qualified, and have since had the opportunity to teach the course and now also enjoy delivering CPD workshops for qualified Reflexologists.
Since 2019 I have been heavily involved in a newly created not for project organisation, now a CIC, TherapyAid, aiming to provide NHS approved supportive therapies to Unpaid Carers in Norfolk, who may not normally be able to afford complementary therapies or have the time.
If you would like to book an appointment, purchase gift vouchers or discuss the therapies that I offer, please feel free to contact me, by Private Message via my FB business page, telephone (07770 277 596) or email: natalie@sensitivesolestherapies.co.uk - I look forward to seeing you soon.

If you have health or medical concerns, please speak to your GP in the first instance, for medical diagnosis.
Complementary Therapy is NOT a replacement for mainstream healthcare and should never replace conventional medicine, it is my aim and desire to work in conjunction with, complementing one another – if I feel a medical referral is required, I will advise appropriately, during your sessions with me.
