Registering a Death – What You Need to Know 🤍

When someone dies, the death must be registered in person and by appointment at a registration office.

Please only book an appointment after you’ve been advised to do so by the Medical Examiner’s Office or the Coroner.

Key points to remember:
🕊️ You should register the death within five days of being told to do so
📅 Appointments are in-person only
⏳ Appointments cannot be booked more than five days in advance

What to Do When A Loved One Passes Away

🟢 Take a Moment

When someone dies, there’s no need to rush. Take a breath.

❤️ If the death occurs at home, call the GP or emergency services (depending on circumstances).
❤️ If it happens in hospital or a care home, staff will guide you through the immediate next steps.

You don’t need to have all the answers right away. 💚
