Midweek medicine (without having to be “good” at yoga) 🤍

This class used to be called “advanced”… which never quite felt right.
Yes — many people who come have years of practice.
But what makes it work isn’t experience…
it’s a willingness to listen to your body (on any given day).
Some weeks we move more.
Some weeks we do melty puddle on the floor.
Sometimes things feel strong and spacious, sometimes it’s just about showing up and exhaling.
There’s no fixed plan —
I shape each session around who’s in the room, drawing on somatics, yoga therapy, and a bit of seasonal awareness.
It’s supportive, adaptable, and (thankfully) not too serious.

✨ A few spaces left on the Wednesday 6pm session
✨ Other classes nearly full (1–3 spaces left)
✨ One now fully booked

If you’ve ever felt like you don’t quite fit into typical yoga classes —
you might feel at home here.
Based in our little Norwich studio 🤍

Did you know . . . Wednesday evenings are now open-level somatic yoga?

As always, what I share is inspired by what feels most true to me, and what resonates most with those of you who come along. A 'somatic' approach is about finding ease and flow within postures, rather than creating a fixed or static form. This is much nicer for most of our bodies, as we truly tune into what FEELS RIGHT rather than me telling you what position your body is 'supposed' to be in. It's exploratory, it's tuned-in, it's curious, it's playful.

Sometimes its soothing and laying and we roll around (we phrased the term 'melty puddle') and it can also be strong with standing postures that challenge balance and whole body 'toning'.

Wednesdays, 6-7.30pm at Happy Om. Some drop-ins available.

Disclaimer: photo purely for attention

I’m soooo not ready for intentions and resolutions. But I’m definitely ready to be with myself in my practice. Listening, observing, and being kind to myself.

02/09/2025

After a few days off my ‘normal’ physical yoga practice (unless you call dancing wildly for hours in the woods yoga, which I do actually), I had time today for a 30 minute practice. In that time, here’s what I felt:

🌿 a calmer nervous system
🧘‍♀️ a stronger and more mobile body
🌈 a more integrated sense of ‘this is me’
🌲more presence and clarity
💜 a softer heart and sense of love
🦋 gratitude
🦄 greater resilience (just like a unicorn)
🐸 a feeling of aliveness (like a, er, frog)

30 minutes. Magical. I know I’m not alone in this

Which leads me to an unashamed offering of the last few places of my yoga courses starting in September. If you want a teacher who is authentic, grounded, compassionate, no bu****it, highly experienced in many realms of yoga-ness and who swears a bit, maybe we’re a match. So here’s what it’s looking like …

(Monday beginners ~ wait list only)
(Tuesday improvers ~ wait list only)
Women’s Wednesday 10-11.30am ~ 2 places. A circle where we share, move, breathe and rest together.
Wednesday holistic yoga 6-7.30om ~ 3 places. An intermediate class for those who like more of a physical challenge.
Thursday Somatics and Strength 9.30-10.45am ~ 3 places. A class aimed at women 40+ who want to balance mobility with strength.

Classes start from 4th September, Happy Om Norwich. Message me to join the joy!

Somatic Yoga this evening 6-7.30pm at Happy Om Norwich . . I have a couple of places. The emphasis is exploration, gentleness, curiosity and play. With a Pitta-reducing attitude of softness and ease. This week after class people have described it as magical, miraculous, and blissful. Your nervous system will thank you.

If you would like to:

Feel more connected to yourself physically & emotionally
Release held tension, stress & trauma
Feel less anxious, and more grounded
Feel held in a deeply intuitive and safe space . . .

I have space for just one more private client over the next few months. Sessions are deeply intuitive based on your needs on the day. Somatic yoga, somatic release and bodywork are all in the mix for a completely holistic approach.

The sessions could be on a Tuesday afternoon, or Thursday late morning, once a fortnight, for a minimum of 3 months. If you'd like it to be you, get in touch!

''Lou is so inspirational at creating a cocoon of warmth, support, space and energy that allows us to truly be ourselves.' Celia

'I loved our sessions intellectually, emotionally and physically' Caroline

'Lou works in a really intuitive way and every session is unique and feels very magical. I came out feeling recharged, grounded and extremely creative.' Elise
