Yoga is great in midlife, it's not all laying around and banging tingshers together you know! I've been practicing it since I was a kid and couldn't imagine it not being part of my life. It's stood the test of time having been around over 5,000 years!
It can help Improve our flexibility and mobility, which can reduce that stiffness we feel in middle age at the beginning or end of each day
It helps to keep our muscles strong and bones healthy - guarding against the increased risk of osteoporosis as we age.
It helps our balance, one of the first things we lose, helping to lower the risk of falls in later life.
Regular practice helps to bring down stress levels , reducing blood pressure, helping heart health and promoting better sleep as we become more aware of breath.
It should be inclusive too, so any well educated Yoga teacher should be able to teach a mixed group at all times, after all when do you stop becoming a 'beginner'? After the first session...
