Guess who's moving in at Belvoir Vale Care Home? We've got some very special new residents on the way - and they have wings 😀

The Spinney is getting a wild upgrade as we put up cosy owl and bat boxes to welcome these amazing night time visitors. 🦉

Even better, these homes were handmade by some of our gentlemen with help from the maintenance team and carefully put upwith the help of our Home Managers' son who is a professional at climbing trees! 🌲 Big thanks to everyone involved 👏

The people who live with us are already keeping an eye on the trees, excited to spot who settles in first. Nature, fresh air and a touch of adventure - just another lovely day at Belvoir Vale Care Home!

At Belvoir Vale Care Home we recently spent some special time reminiscing together using a wonderful collection of items kindly donated by Vale Clearances.

From vintage household pieces to familiar everyday objects, each item sparked meaningful conversations and treasured memories. The people who live with us shared stories from years gone by - bringing laughter, nostalgia and a real sense of connection to the room.

Some of the people who live with us had an out-of-this-world day on their recent trip to the National Space Centre in Leicester. 🚀✨

From exploring facinating exhibits to learning all about space travel, planets and astronauts, it was a day full of discovery, wonder and plenty of smiles.

Trips like this are a fantastic way to spark curiosity, create new memories and enjoy something a little different together.

💖3 weeks for the price of 2 on spring respite stays💖

Caring for someone can be hugely rewarding, but it can also be highly demanding - both physically and mentally. Respite care exists to allow those who care for someone to rest, recharge and refocus, on a short-term basis.

Respite care plays a crucial role in supporting both caregivers and individuals in need of care, by promoting and improving the overall wellbeing of both parties. It allows the caregiver the chance to have a well-deserved break, with complete peace of mind that their loved one is receiving a high standard of care in a home-from-home environment. A short break offers so much more than care too – providing an opportunity to take a break from everyday life and routine, make new friends, and enjoy meaningful activities and even day trips.

At Belvoir Vale Care Home, when someone is taking a short-term break with us, we want to give that person the confidence and individual support they need to retain their independence with the view to returning home, though permanent care may be sometimes considered in the longer term.

As they carefully selected and arranged each bloom, it sparked so may cherished memories - gardens once tendered, special occassions, and the simple joy of having fresh flowers in the home. 💖

We held a wonderful tea dance this week inspired by International Women's Day and it was an afternoon filled with music, laughter, and plenty of dancing.

Our ladies enjoyed being celebrated, and much to everyone’s delight the gentlemen where the first to the dance floor.💃🕺 They certainly showed off their moves and kept the energy high throughout the afternoon.

It was a lovely chance for everyone to come together, share stories, and enjoy a truly uplifting event.

A big thank you to our team for creating such a joyful atmosphere. To the kitchen for the gorgeous food, the lifestyle team for organising and the care team for getting stuck in with us.

Belvoir Vale Care Home is located in the pretty hamlett of Widmerpool, just off the A46 between Leicester and Newark, Nottingham and Melton Mowbray are within easy reach,

The home is designed like a care village, with three care homes in grounds of over two acres. Each building is purpose built and all bedrooms are attractively furnished with en-suite facilities.

There is a choice of bright and attractive lounges, dining rooms, and hairdressers which are accessible to all. The private, enclosed garden and patio area to the front of the home is enjoyed all year around but especially in the warmer months with al fresco events, drinks and afternoon teas. Our busy social calendar and extensive links with the community are a key part of our residents well being.
