In November 2023, as part of our bucket list dreams, a gentleman living with us, Mr. Herrick, wanted to see the racing pigeons again, an old hobby of his and being a part of the RPRA.

We organised for a pigeon fancier to come to the home, reuniting him with old friends: the pigeon society. It really did light up everyone's day.

A few weeks ago, a racing pigeon was found, weak and unable to fly right outside our doors a Belvoir vale. We contacted the owners and found that the pigeon had flown away 5 weeks ago from way up north. One of our amazing team took the pigeon home for the night, before it was re-homed to a lovely place with lots of pigeons the next morning.

This pigeon was a sign; it was only right we named him Herrick!

Time for a sing-song!🎵🎤

We enjoyed a wonderful performance from the Radcliffe on Trent Sing-along ladies, who sang a selection of wartime songs for us all to enjoy on a warm July afternoon.

It was an absolutely amazing performance which was so well thought out and beautifully sang. The people that live with us expressed how much they loved the song choices, and enjoyed dancing and singing along.

We love a quiz here at Belvoir Vale!📝

They’re the highlight of Monday and Saturday mornings. We always start off with More…Movement and exercise our bodies before exercising our minds. The quizzes range from topics like ‘a trip down memory lane’, to true or false quizzes and musical bingo. They definitely get us thinking and reminiscing.

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside!🏖️🍦

We recently took a trip to Sutton on Sea and enjoyed a day by the beach. We went on possibly the windiest day and definitely felt the sea breeze in our hair. We also enjoyed dipping our toes in the sand and tucking into some delicious fish and chips.

To end the day, we took a special detour to catch a glimpse of one of the people who lives with us beach house, which he said brought back many precious memories.

All the lovely people living with us and staff would like to wish one of our Senior Carers, Ceciliah, a restful and relaxing holiday filled with joy, as she takes a well deserved holiday to spend time with her family.

This will be the first time Ceciliah has seen her family since before Covid. We are all very excited for them to spend this time together. This has brought back many memories of past holiday's with families all those who live with us have been on in the past. We can't wait to hear all about it when you get back Ceciliah! 👏

After a wonderful Summer Party at our home, we would like to say a huge thank you to The PJ Big Band for their amazing musical talent and entertaining us all for the duration of the party, come rain or shine.

Staff, families, friends and those who live with us are very grateful and continue to talk about the amazing talent shown.

What a great day we had at Gateford Hill Care Home competing in the bowls tournament!
We started off with a musical warm up and some promising practice games. Then, we were treated to a delicious three course lunch to energise us for the competition ahead.
Then… game time.
It was a tough competition and a close result at the end, but… WE WON! Go Belvoir Vale’s Eager Belvoirs!
We proudly arrived back to Belvoir Vale with our team t-shirts and medals around our necks🏅

A huge thank you to Gateford Hill Care Home for hosting us and for being so welcoming. We had a lovely time.

We got our dancing shoes on and listened to MORE… music with two trips to joyful jukebox this month!

It is always fun visiting to dance and sing with everybody. The people who live with us got up on the dance floor and wowed is with their dance moves to ABBA, the YMCA and much more.

Come rain or shine we didn't let anything dull our shine. With amazing live music performed by 'The PJ Big Band', delicious snacks and drinks from the kitchen team, exciting games, activities and decorations from our lifestyle team, and as always, brilliant planning and ex*****on from our lovely admin ladies. 🎉☀️😀

Those who live with us, families, friends, our community and even staff all had a brilliant time and are all looking forward to our next event coming soon. 😁

Those living with us took a trip to East Bridgford Garden Centre for More...Socialising, shopping and delicious cake.

We soaked up the warm weather and More...Fresh Air while having a lovely time browsing and admiring the plants. Of course we had to stop by at the cafe to enjoy a drink and a selection of cakes!

Belvoir Vale Care Home is located in the pretty hamlett of Widmerpool, just off the A46 between Leicester and Newark, Nottingham and Melton Mowbray are within easy reach,

The home is designed like a care village, with three care homes in grounds of over two acres. Each building is purpose built and all bedrooms are attractively furnished with en-suite facilities.

There is a choice of bright and attractive lounges, dining rooms, and hairdressers which are accessible to all. The private, enclosed garden and patio area to the front of the home is enjoyed all year around but especially in the warmer months with al fresco events, drinks and afternoon teas. Our busy social calendar and extensive links with the community are a key part of our residents well being.
