Santa and his elves have been busy this year! As we are unwrapping our wonderful presents, we are all so thankful for the year we have had.

All of us at Belvoir Vale would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, however you are celebrating! πŸŽ„πŸŽ†

We would like to say a huge thank you to 'The Cosy Gift Company' for all their hard work and dedication with our Christmas gifts this year, working with them to create these boxes has been a pleasure.

Yesterday we continued the countdown to Christmas with gingerbread decorating.

We had so much fun creating warm hats and scarves for the gingerbread people, and a bonus as they tasted delicious.

We sat around together talking about the winter and Christmas coming up. We are now very excited for the big day!

Merry Christmas everyone πŸŒŸπŸŽ„

We opened our brand-new nursery in Rutland House, for our most loved and forever treasured baby dolls. We now have a place to look after the babies, put them to bed and change their clothes, we spent the morning having a look around the new space and showing our babies their new room.

We are very excited to keep adding to our nursery and watch those who live with us shine in looking after them. Please take a look at us in action the next time you come to visit us.

Supporting our community this winter - we've been delivering leaflets to homes in the local area with information about the support and services available at Belvoir Vale care home this winter.

If you receive one, please take a moment to read it and share with anyone who might find it helpful. Every little bit of support makes a difference. Thank you for looking out for one another. In addition to more peranant stays, we offer day care, and we're offering 3 weeks for the price of 2 on respite stays until the end of January 2026.

At Belvoir Vale, we believe that the people who live with us should always have a voice. That's why we love getting them involved in interviews whenever we can. It gives them the chance to ask questions, share their views, meet potential new team members and helps us choose people who truly share our values. After all, this is their home and their opinions really matter.

This year we celebrated Christmas with those we love surrounding us. We indulged in fabulous food and drinks, from glasses of fizz to warm mulled wine punch. We enjoyed a lovely spread of festive food from the kitchen team, including cheese boards, festive sandwiches, Christmas cake and chocolates all round.

We were lucky to have special guests this year, massive thank you to PJ and the big band! And of course, what's Christmas without a visit from the jolly man himself.

Great fun and laughter were had all round.

This morning at Belvoir Vale we celebrated breakfast day! One of our care staff Carol came in on her day off to set up and made some beautiful breakfast items for all staff and it went down a treat. Night staff, day staff and everyone in-between were enjoying this treat this morning. We even had one of our new residents come down and welcome the staff to breakfast.

We celebrated International Men's Day with the men who live with us the week before, with a trip to the air museum - one of the lovely gentleman that lives with us used to fly aircrafts like the ones we saw so we had a brilliant tour guide with us.

We celebrated again with 'A day in the workshop', followed by a lovely lunch and a pint made by our wonderful kitchen team. We started with a pub style quiz, shouting out the answers and working together to find the correct answer. We then put together some bug hotels and painted these alongside painting our new bird houses, which are going into our forest area to give shelter to the wildlife. We shared stories of jobs we've had in the past and things we have built, from houses to farm equipment, we all had a story to tell. Everyone had such a good day!

We celebrated our love for animals great and small, as we started the day with a wonderful visit from our friends at Zoo Lab, who brought along some wonderful small critters, from a lizard to corn snake and even giant African land snails.

We had a great time getting to know these animals and how they move with an exercise class. We got up close and some of us were brave enough to hold them.

In the afternoon we took a trip to RDA- Riding for disabled to see their horses, as always, we were blown away by their hospitality and kind natured horses, finishing the day with a nice warm drink and lovely cakes.

We had the amazing opportunity to host an evening activity with Nottinghamshire Astronomical Society member Julian, who came to the home to talk to us and show us what is above us in the sky, from planets, to stars and the northern lights.

His presentation was very informative and we all learnt so much we didn't know about the universe, telescopes and research happening right now. We are very grateful for this opportunity and hope to welcome Julian back soon. We finished the night with some fabulous star cookies and hot chocolates.
