I had a brilliant morning running in the Sinfin 5 mile race today.
Just a small local one, but a lot of fun.

Being part of a running club Shelton Striders RC has really motivated me to get out there and take part in different events.
I know compared to others my time isn't impressive, but for me it felt like a huge achievement.

Thanks Lyndsay Butcher and Matt Bailey for always having my back and making me feel like a "proper runner" even when I haven't felt like one.
I would encourage anyone who has interest in being part of fabulous supportive community to get out there and join a running club. Not being biased, but ours is probably the best 😂😉

It's been a super busy start to 2025 and everyone is well and truly getting back into the swing of things.

The subject of this week is recovery.
With our busy lives, it's so hard to factor in recovery days. I don't mean rest, I mean reset.

I can only share with you my routine, as everyone will need something different.
That's why it's important to have an assessment from a trained Sports Massage therapist, to ensure you can safely begin a new exercise regime.

Two of my favourite techniques for helping my neck and shoulders to stay pain free are the self massage with a ball and the Scapular reset.

Up early this morning to take part in the
I'll be running with my lovely friend Lyndsay Butcher who's our fabulous 75min pacer.

I took a bit of a tumble just over a week ago, so instead of stressing myself for a time, I'm going to enjoy the day and talk my good friend's ears off. 😂 Sorry... not sorry.

Whatever you're doing today, look after yourselves, have fun, try not to fall over. 😉

Equinox 24, this had just about everything. Baking hot sunshine during the first afternoon, followed by the thunderstorms and heavy rain.
I was more than a little apprehensive at the start line, as I'd given myself a target of 100km to complete.
I've put in a fair few hours of training, but nothing could have prepared me for those conditions.
The support from was phenomenal.
I was so proud to be a member of this club.
The quiet hours spent alone on the course taught me a lot about my mental strength, but the time spent back in the camp taught me the importance of having a great support team.
I reached my fundraising target for which I'm so grateful for.

Thank you to my biggest supporter Matt Bailey He kept me company throughout the dark and miserable night laps and never doubted my ability to finish.

This one's for you mum. You never cease to amaze me with your resilience and strength. 💛

Until the next challenge 🫡

Well that's a wrap.
The hardest running challenge I've ever done.
Feeling a little emotional.
Thank you again for all of your messages of support, I read them all and it gave me such a boost when I thought I couldn't get back out there. ❤️

Still alive..... 42.84 miles done.
Back in the tent and drying off until the final push in the morning.
Alarm is set for 5.15am.
It's absolutely hammering it down. 🤣
I hope the legs understand the assignment 😱😂

Just waiting in the queue of cars for the gates to open.
At this time tomorrow I'll have my game face on and race number pinned to my chest.

It's go time. 💪

Feeling grateful and nervous.
I've reached my fundraising target thanks to you lovely people. Just the small task of completing the challenge. 😂
