💛 From carer to community member – Leslie’s Lark Hill story 💛

After seven years caring for others at Lark Hill Village, Leslie Barber never imagined she’d soon be calling it home. Shortly after retiring, she moved into her own apartment and began a new chapter surrounded by familiar faces, friendships and a true sense of belonging.

Leslie shares how the village feels like one big family, how she now volunteers with the dementia group, and why Lark Hill has become a special place not just for her and her partner Gary, but for their whole family, including weekly tea with her grandson. From teamwork and trust to independence and connection, her story shows what retirement living can really look like.

The volunteers, thank you party 2025 at Lark Hill was a Vegas theme event. No money involved just the residence playing the roulette wheel pig racing and blackjack with free chips. if they had any leftover at the end of the night they exchanged them for a cream egg when they cash them in. Then it was dancing to the 60s disco for the rest of the night.  a big thank you to Mark from head office for running one of our blackjack tables the support you gave us was really appreciated.

On the 11th of January 2025 we had the most fantastic evening with the Ragdolls performing for us here at Lark Hill. Highly recommended the dance floor was full all night.
