Today's green salad; mashua leaves, oca leaves, chicory, garlic chives, pink purslane and sorrel. Flavours include citrus, garlic, bitter, beetroot. Healthy and fresh straight from my garden.

Jerusalem artichokes. I didn't even plant these this year. They regrew from remnants of the year before. In deep shade under a eucalyptus tree. This is less than a quarter of them...
Any recipe ideas?

Triple crown blackberries are huge, succulent and sweet!

Day lilies: Not only beautiful to look at, but they taste great. They have a crunch like iceberg lettuce but with sweetness from nectar in their centre. The buds can also be chopped and fried like onion. I have 3 varieties. The purple is my favourite to eat.

Abundance in a small alleyway. Our quail are providing 5 eggs a day and maure for composting. They eat w**d seeds and dead flies. Above them are growing a huge crop of thornless blackberries ( Waldo). I picked 350g today. No space is too small to grow some of your own food.

All my lettuce seedlings are getting gobbled up by slugs. Thankfully my perennials can provide alternative salad greens. Musk mallow, sedum, sorrel, sculpit and a few herbs.

Places like these are so rare and precious. They need to be protected from development. This is an example of wildlife friendly food production from past times.

Coton Orchard is the largest Traditional Orchard in Cambridgeshire and the eighth largest in the country.
