Ladies who lunch....

Our lovely residents, Jean and Daisy, enjoyed a fantastic trip out together, as they went shopping and followed it up with a spot of lunch. Not only did they enjoy the retail therapy, but lunch tasted delicious, and it gave them plenty of time to catch up and have a chat. We know they enjoyed themselves enormously and are looking forward to the next trip out!

Eyes down for a full house!

Our lovely residents love nothing better than a session of Bingo. So it was all eyes down this week and some very serious looks of concentration on people's faces as the balls were called. There were certainly some competitive spirits in the room, which made for a lot of fun and laughs during the session. Everyone is looking forward to the next game so that battle can commence again!

Shhhhhh ……

Our lovely residents had a great time this week, enjoying a silent disco. Yes, we know that sounds wrong, but with the aid of lots of headphone sets, everybody was able to inhabit their own musical space and enjoyed a dance and sing-along.

A big thank you to Dyna-Mik for playing the tunes that took everyone down memory lane and gave them such enjoyment.

Fun and games!

A very welcome visitor!

All our residents and staff had a lovely time recently when they welcomed shire horse George to the home. He was an instant hit with everyone who really enjoyed making a fuss of him. George lapped up the attention, and if he could talk we are sure he would be saying "when can I come back and see these lovely people again?"

Edward House - nailing it!!

It’s great to get pampered, and at Edward House, we like to pamper our residents as often as possible. So recently we had our local manicure marvel visit the home and work their magic. Both ladies and gents were invited to enjoy the simple pleasure of a decent manicure...and enjoy they did as you can see from the smiles on their faces. A lovely treat for everyone!

Pet parade.....

This week, our lovely residents had a visit from our friends at the local Guardian Angels Bird sanctuary. The residents loved having Millie the Senegal and Bella the African grey around, but of course, they were still taken with Rosy the Yorkshire terrier, who was also visiting. Having pets and animals in the home is highly therapeutic for all our residents, who thoroughly enjoy their company.

A Fab Fair....

We had a fantastic turnout for our Summer Fair at the weekend. Residents and Staff welcomed oour local community for a great afternoon, which also formed part of Eastwood in Bloom. Everybody enjoyed Nevs BBQ skills, JJs ices and free candy floss!! Live music and the Matlock brass band kick started dancing and lots of laughter. It was a great event and everyone thoroughly enjoed themselves. A huge thank you to all those who worked so hard to make it happen on the day.

Freak weather!!!!!

Well, we've all got used to solid sunshine this Summer - but recently the rain came just when we decided to take a trip out with our residents to Mablethorpe. But we refused to let our spirits be dampened!

Everyone enjoyed fish and chips on the beach front, followed by an ice cream and a few games in the arcades. We would like to thank Lees Line for their services getting us there and back. Everyone had a great time - but we did agree we'd like to see the sunshine back next time!!
