Women’s health is finally getting the attention it deserves in the workplace and Occupational Health (OH) professionals are perfectly placed to lead the way. From menopause and menstruation to fertility challenges, pregnancy loss and long-term health risks, these issues are no longer side conversations. They are front and centre of the workplace wellbeing agenda. 👏

This was the focus of a recent webinar hosted by the Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM), where Emma Persand RN QN 🇬🇧🇲🇺, Chair of the SOM Women’s Health at Work Network, led a conversation with Deborah Garlick, CEO of Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace and Menopause Friendly on the crucial role Occupational Health plays in addressing menopause and wider women’s health at work.

Collaboration in action; tackling period poverty together 🤝

We love seeing how Menopause Friendly employers and partners can come together to make a real difference beyond the workplace.

Specsavers highlighted the urgent need for menstrual products at Crisis Skylight centres, so Menopause in the Workplace by Henpicked and Mooncup joined forces with Specsavers to help. 🥰

Together, we’ve funded and provided £10,000 of free, sustainable Mooncup and organic period care products to people supported by Crisis, helping to tackle period poverty and give people experiencing homelessness the dignity they deserve.

Period poverty is real:
👉 24% of people who menstruate in the UK have struggled to afford products in the past year
👉 1 in 5 have resorted to makeshift materials like toilet paper or sponges

For those without stable housing, managing a period is even harder but by working together, we can help change that. 🤩

This is a brilliant example of what’s possible when employers, partners and charities unite for good. 🤝
