It’s great to see our learners getting into the spirit of National Scaffolders Day while training with Safety and Access

This course is for people who have carried out a Part 1 scaffold course for a minimum of six months. The course teaches the core skills of scaffolding. It covers how to safely erect, alter and dismantle basic scaffolding structures. You gain the CISRS Scaffolding Part 2 certificate on passing the course.

Temperatures have plummeted this morning, and all operatives completed their risk assessments with numb fingers and frozen breath — proof that winter has officially arrived 🥶

Cold, wet, and icy conditions increase the risk of slips, trips, and falls on scaffold access routes and working platforms. Icy boards, slippery ladders, and frozen ground don’t care how experienced you are.

Remember:
☑ Check access and egress before use
☑ Clear ice, snow, and debris from boards and ladders
☑ Wear proper footwear — fashion boots don’t count
☑ Take extra care on early starts when ice is at its worst
☑ If it’s unsafe, stop and report it

One slip is all it takes. Stay sharp, stay warm, and stay on your feet this winter.
