Carers Rights Day is all about empowering carers to take up their rights as and when they need them. While information and awareness are important, we also have practical advice and resources that can help you feel more supported in your caring journey.

We have just launched our newest edition of our Being Heard guide. This has been designed to help you understand your rights, communicate your needs with professionals, and look after your wellbeing.

Alongside this, our brand-new Financial Toolkit is now available, This is designed to highlight some positive steps you can take to keep your finances under control.

With temperatures forecasted to drop across the UK over the next few days, it’s important to make sure that we’re looking out for our loved ones living with dementia.

Winter can be a particularly difficult time for somebody living with dementia. The bad weather and colder temperatures can bring specific challenges, and can sometimes make symptoms temporarily worse.

They may not always be able to communicate that they are cold – or they might not even recognise it themselves.

Perception issues can also make it difficult for someone with dementia to see icy patches on a pavement or understand that a surface may be extra slippery.

So make sure to check in regularly on loved ones, friends and neighbours living with dementia, and follow our useful tips to help support them through the winter.

Congratulations Jennie on your new role of the Registered Manager of Mae Care. We can now move forward with our 'SEPAL' training and our safeguarding training to support all involved in the care of our wonderful customers. I will add a photo when you took a ladies babies out with you, and it gave her lots of comfort they were safe with you both. Dementia care at its best. Simple but wonderful and the smile on her face. Lets include, lets occupy, lets love, lets be comforting and lets use the attachment of that person live in their own home and the care we deliver. Well done Jen. x
