A clinical trial for a potential new medication to treat provoked vulvodynia is discussed in this Vulval Pain Society (VPS) event.

Dr John Connell, Chief Scientific Officer at MAC Clinical Research, joins VPS trustees Sheren Gaulbert and Dr Winston de Mello to answer questions from patients and clinicians, including who may be suitable for the trial and how it could help manage v***al pain.

1️⃣ over 18 and have lived with any v***al pain for over 3 months: vulvodynia, vestibulodynia, lichen sclerosus, lichen planus, or atrophic vaginitis OR

📣 Get involved in finding new treatments for vulvodynia!

is looking for volunteers diagnosed with vulvodynia to take part in a clinical trial investigating a potential new treatment.


KEY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA::
• Women ages 18-65 ✅
• Diagnosis of vulvodynia, with pain for at least 12 months ✅


💊 The study medication is being investigated to evaluate the effect it has on the pain in the vestibule when caused by insertion (tampon/sex) or touch (provoked vestibulodynia).

It is a novel therapy that increases dopamine levels in the body, which contribute to feelings of pleasure, and pain modulation. ✨🧠
