Ultrasound is very high frequency sound waves, well above the perception of the human ear so your baby will not be aware of the scan in any way. 3D and 4D ultrasound uses exactly the same technology as hospital 2D ultrasound scanning.
2D ultrasound gives imaging in 2 dimensions and is used in diagnostic examinations.
3D ultrasound gives images in 3-dimensions, in other words still pictures
4D ultrasound gives imaging in the fourth dimension, giving us real-time movement of your baby in the womb.
5D HD ultrasound – The latest technology available in selected studios. Our Scanning Machines
Our ultrasound scanner is basically a very powerful computer. It’s processor interprets the reflected high frequency sound waves into 3D pictures and adds the fourth-dimension to give us real time moving images. Our Studio Opening Times:

Seeing your baby in 4D is such a magical experience! ✨👶
The placenta can sit in different positions — front (anterior), back (posterior), top (fundal), or sides — and all positions are completely normal.
💛 When the placenta is anterior, images may look a little softer at first, and sometimes baby faces the placenta, but this is very common and nothing to worry about.
🌸 Amniotic fluid 💧 plays a big role in image clarity, helping us capture detailed facial features.
Using gentle angles, allowing time for baby to move, and finding the best fluid pockets, we can get the clearest view possible.
🎥 And don’t worry — if baby isn’t showing their face or images aren’t clear, we offer rescans around 32–34 weeks, when baby is bigger 🍼, features are more defined 😍, and the placenta often rises ⬆️.
With patience, skill, and timing, many tricky scans turn into stunning, memorable 4D images! ✨💛

Over recent months there has been increased media attention around baby scan companies and concerns about who is carrying out pregnancy ultrasounds. For expectant parents, this kind of news can understandably cause worry. Pregnancy is a time when trust, safety and reassurance matter more than ever.

At our clinic, every baby scan is performed by fully qualified UK trained sonographers. All of our sonographers have trained and worked within the NHS and continue to practise to the same professional standards in private care.
