🎶👣 Foot & Ankle Show Liverpool 2026👣🎶

We’ve just returned from a fantastic few days at the in Liverpool, where we had the chance to learn from leading clinicians, explore the latest research, and discover new innovations in podiatry and foot & ankle care 👣✨

It was great to connect with so many brilliant companies and colleagues in the industry including , , , and learning more about the technologies, products and treatments that continue to improve patient outcomes. Continuous learning is such an important part of what we do, and it’s always exciting bringing new knowledge back to clinic 💙

Of course, while we were in Liverpool we couldn’t miss a little bit of Beatles history too 🎸 We stopped by the legendary Cavern Club and visited the famous Beatles statue on the waterfront a perfect way to finish the trip!

A great few days of learning, networking and a little sightseeing. Now we’re back in clinic ready to put everything we’ve learnt into practice 👣🙌

The Royal College of Podiatry will be attending What Next? at the NEC Birmingham on 27–28 February.
Students visiting the stand can speak directly with podiatrists to learn more about studying podiatry, apprenticeship routes and the wide range of career pathways within the profession, from clinical practice to specialist areas.

This event offers a practical opportunity for students considering healthcare, science or allied health professions to gain informed insight into their options.

A Podiatry Degree Apprenticeship lets you earn while you learn, combining paid work with university study and hands-on clinical experience.

Why choose a podiatry apprenticeship?
✔️ Paid job from day one; you’re part of the team
✔️ No tuition fees (covered by your employer & the government)
✔️ A full BSc degree in Podiatry
✔️ Hands-on learning, clinical placements & real patients
✔️ Eligible for HCPC registration when you qualify
✔️ Same career opportunities as a traditional degree

How long does it take?
• 3 years full-time
• 4.5 years part-time

What’s the study split?
• 40% in the workplace
• 60% at university

Where can you study?
Brighton | Coventry | Huddersfield | Northampton | Plymouth | Salford | Sunderland | Wolverhampton
(More universities are expected to offer this route in future.)

How do you apply?
You’ll need to be employed by an organisation willing to support your apprenticeship - often the NHS, and sometimes private podiatry practices.
Vacancies are listed on the government apprenticeship website and the RCPod jobs board.

Good to know:
As a paid employee, you won’t be eligible for a student loan, so it’s important to plan to live on your salary.

How it all began

About us

The foot, knee and back clinic was established in 1997. The clinic, originally based in Beeston and called the Beeston Podiatry and Sports Injury Clinic, moved to Long Eaton in 2003 to its current premises on Derby Road. In 2006 the clinic expanded to Sheffield and opened its second branch, now on Middlewood Road.
